I didn't know Man Utd had a school in Mumbai until now, it started in 2011 which is still quite new. Prices are quite high though to join.
If it wasn't a good idea, why did Man Utd go ahead with it?
I do agree with Kron-1664, Sikhs are quite powerful.Last edited by vblockranger; 03-07-2013, 11:25 PM.

If what you say is correct then why did Man Utd go there?

Maybe its the "everyones out to get me" attitude that is holding them back? that and the filth, gender and caste discrimination, income gap, a non functioning democracy, a non functioning bureaucracy, a corrupt judicial and police system, and a long list of other problems. And before they start carping on about discrimination i wonder how well the girls' and womens' teams are doing in so called democratic India?

Quite an eye-opener those videos, and kudos to Clark Carlisle for highlighting it in that documentary. The evidence is there for all to see. What other reason is there for that Asian lad, who'd scored 84 goals in a season and the other who was captain of his county, not to get picked up by a pro club if it wasn't simply because of their ethnicity. The guy who turned him down at the club even told him that to his face not in so many words i.e. "I've been specifically employed to NOT take on Asian people."
Don't matter who you are, which race you come from... you will find world class talent and that is a fact!

If the club don't try it, you'll never know the outcome.

- India isnt a Third world country, Frankly i aint begging here for daily food & aint rich by a long way
- Indian footballers have natural talent, but as earlier posted by me its the training and infrastructure that is the issue,
We have had some of the best footballers as well a rich history of the game
(Being the best team in Asia from 50's till 62 even reaching semifinals of the olympics)
- Bcos the Team is 150th ranked as per FIFA rules a NON EU player cannot play EU football if the national teams ranking is above 70th unless the FA approves, This is the reason why you dont have top players playing in UK. Although we have a Sunil chettri playing in Spain the rest are being paid well here so doesnt make sense to ply abroad where punts on Non EU players are no longer taken
- Top clubs of the world (Man U is the last but we have Barcelona, Bayern, Juventus.. set up 5 yrs ago) already setup academies in India and frankly they care abt taking the right youngster rather than earn profits in joining feesam sure they have better plans to earn than setup schools for fees
- The reason to setup a club in Chennai is purely financial in nature, I can also assure you that not a single indian lad will get to play for QPR for sometime, The decision is financial in nature, we get the infrastructure and a proper club you get the money simples
Do not compare British Indians to people here cos its not the same at all, British Indians may not visit matches there due to fear of racial abuse, cost etc.. we here have 120,000+ ppl watching a kolkata derby play poor football, BIG Difference!!Last edited by DX7778; 04-07-2013, 07:15 AM.

I like everyone has brushed over the one and only actual Indian posting on this thread!
I think its great we are giving it a shot, if it works then brilliant, if not then at least we are trying. Acadamys can take years to produce talent - there could be 5 Cristiano Patels in their under 11's team for all we know!
