How do we know the club never offered DJ the rumoured 1 year deal ! which DJ would reject seeing as DJ will probably get a better deal elsewhere over the next few weeks , me I wouldn't be surprised to see Ollie make a move for him as back up

Succeeded at Blackpool in the prem, Ipswich in the ccc...it'll remain a mystery why he didn't make it at his boyhood club....If he'd been given a fair crack of the whip and failed I could understand...but he wasn't.

        Hulse 7-10
        Campbell 30-40

So thats anything between 77-110 freed up in wages per week, not bad.
Reckon Ben haim was on more than that maybe even double. Plus hulse and cernys wages would of gone up after promotion
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

If he was offered a contract, the club would have announced that he turned it down.

instead, the club has announced that he along with the others has been released by the club. no contract was offered to any of them.

Why would the club announce internal business if they announce to the world we offered DJ a 12 month contract on reduced terms DJ refused wanting a 2 year deal on improved terms we refused so he's being released that would be telling potential buyers for our over paid steamers we are **** street come make silly bids we need the cash

Have to admit I do find it a tad strange that we've let DJ & Bothroyd go - both players that are proven very good players at Championship level, and both with the right attitude.

Hope I'm wrong (and I don't wanna seem a drama queen as I know there's plenty of time for others to be brought in still!) but I can't help but feel we are potentially going to leave ourselves in a similar situation to last season with a lack of fit strikers, what with Zamora & AJ's injury records. When fit, I think them 2 could do some serious damage in the Championship, but we will probably be lucky to get 10 games out of em together.

I have no issue with him as a player, and in fact would rather he had played than some others, but the point was for Harry to bring him here you'd have assumed he intended playing him, but rarely did until the season was effectively over and now been released... what was the point.

100% agree Del. Understand if we had stayed up and he released him. But the fact we went down, and he still gets rid, makes ya think what the hell was the point in bringing him in.

i guess the first teamers from last year are unsackable and unsellable so the club is clearing out the ones that can be cleared out - on merit i'd rather have dj and boothroyd in the squad over park/mbia/granero for example - not really fair but what is - hope the club will offer incentives to clear out some of the big bucks earners that will drawf these savings

When he came he was out of work due to Portsmouth's administration. Not sure whether Harry ever thought he would be a long term prospect. Didn't pay anything for him and he wasn't earning much so was a good fill in when needed.

Which I agree with, he was OK when he played - not knocking his performances - but if he was a good enough "fill in" in the PL, then why release him when we drop down a division? I think that's the question both myself and Del were getting at.
