Not the greatest scoop I know but actually is a fact unlike many on here. My source is as good as you can get. Say no more.
Don't doubt it mate.......just pointing out that it's a bit on the obvious side. Remy is too good for the Championship, everyone knows that. Who's gonna part with 8m quid plus for a guy on a rape charge though? If the charges get dropped I would expect a flurry of offers, otherwise he's gonna be with us. Interesting thing on this one though is everyone on here just assumes the case will be dropped, anyone stopped to think about how catastrophic it will be for us if he gets sentenced? I would imagine Tony Fernandes has got some good insurance policies but I'm pretty sure he ain't getting his 8m quid back if Remy goes to jail!
Can't find anything on the web that says he has been charged with rape, all the reports I've read say he was arrested on suspicion of rape on the 15th May and bailed until September.
His solicitor said on 18th May he has not been charged with any offence, has this changed?
If you haven't been charged with an offence why would bail be required?
If the September date is a trial surely he has to be charged with an offence.
Can anybody clarify my confusion.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

I have not followed this case, but if what you state are the facts then it is Police Bail and not one from the court system. If their investigation is continuing which reading between the lines it is, the police can bail a person under investigation without charge to return to the police station at a fixed time and date. There is probably a date that is not been made public yet where Remy will be either charged or told there is no case to answer. I find a trial hearing date of September doubtful, Justice is is not known for moving swiftly. Any September date will be a Magistrates one, he will get bail as he will pass the conditions. The Trial hearing will be early next year and if the case will not be leaving the club until the end of the season one way or another is my best guess. Unless of course not guilty and we are promoted then the club may try to hang on.
Populus fui meus nomen , tamen meus nomen est non meus nomen
Del, could you post one as I seem to have missed it.
Seriously....????
I'm not going to bother searching for one, but I've said it as have countless other posters that we may well have him until at least Jan as cant see clubs signing him with this charge hanging over his head and uncertainty as to the outcome. Also been said if we keep until Jan by default, if we're in a good position we may be able to keep him until the end of the season to get us back up hopefully.
Was also said, the release clause was only for this summer's window, meaning if he did stay, we wouldn't have to sell in Jan if we didn't want to, ie, if it looks like promotion is likely.
Its police bail only ...He has not been charged... He is due back at police station in September where they will decide whether to charge him or release him with no further action.
If hes charged he would then be given a future court date but only after September.
