Whoever wants a football club to stay small needs to find a different sport as football is all about money these days. Stop posting on here and go down your local park and support the kids playing with jumpers as goal posts.

      Such a sweaty conservative view.

i love the way that the tango and cash years have now been revised to the one season where we challenged for promotion and didn't sack the manager every five minutes. in retrospect, we rode our luck that year a bit and were lucky that no other team was able to sustain good form... i still remember this board back then being full of threads claiming forest/cardiff would overtake us and that second place would be a battle.

tf made mistakes. i think he understands this. i can't see too many billionaires wanting to buy us at the moment.

Here's an artists impression of how the frontage will look, note the bars on the window will be where the new clubshop is located!

I'm really confused. This seems to be in a thread called Samba.

basically sums up my views on Adel. If he stays I hope that he recaptures his form of three years ago and takes the championship by storm would love to be proved wrong

Like you, I also want us to have a great season, but it will need club, management AND fans pulling in the same direction. TF has a great vision, IMO, for a successful, sustainable club. He is working on building solid foundations for the future, which includes a new training ground/academy which will be one of the best in the country, and a new stadium that will increase revenue streams by being a multi-purpose venue. With new facilities, we will be able to attract the best youngsters for development, as well as good professionals.

I'm sure he realises he's been turned over and I am positive he's learned. He seems too shrewd a businessman not to.

But he can only do so much. The footballing side is down to the players and the coaching staff to do the jobs they are highly paid to do, and of course us fans to get behind the team.

I notice he got some abuse on twitter the other day again as their is a growing discontent among fans. Think back to our Championship winning season under Amit and Warnock then consider our first season under Fernandes control and our recent humiliating season which followed it. We have gone backward and it's Tony that calls the shots and ultimately stops the buck. He has to take responsibility for our decline and the amount of debt we have amassed just as he would have lapped up the plaudits if the two seasons had gone the other way. Two years of huge mistakes and gross mismanagement both at team manager level and at board level has led us where we are today. Utterly reliant on Fernandes and his ilk to constantly bail us out on a weekly basis up to the point where we would become a Portsmouth if he or his backers get bored and walk away. You may be ok with that? i am not. I worry for the long term future of my club when if Fernandes plans continue we will have sold our traditional home and moved on to this plastic venue that we dont know as of yet who will ultimately own it or pay for it. He has admitted himself his failings and blamed it on naivety. Naivety is something unexpected from succesful businessman like Fernandes and makes me wonder whether he has the best intentions of the club at heart , remember he is no fan, or if he has his own intentions and those of his backers top of his priority list. Tbh i am a cynical **** and it will take a lot more to convince me than it has you it seems that Tony is "good" Chairman and that my club is safe in his hands. So far he has failed utterly and made a hash at most things he has attempted....still he tweets a good tweet and that seems enough to convince a few and we do have a plane and the worlds first 3D programme to crow about :-)
I like fernandes but i can't disagree with any of that . His tenure has been shocking really so far.

Yes, if you call squad investment, the plans for the new training ground/academy and for a new stadium shocking.

I can't believe any Rangers fan thinks having a new academy and training facilities is shocking. Don't you want us to have the best training facilities possible? Don't you want us to have one of the best academies in the country hopefully turning out good young players?

If you think such a facility is shocking, I think you should consider the benefits it will bring.....

New Academy/Training Facilities are all very well and will be great 5 - 10 years down the line but the simple fact is from day one of Fernandes chairmanship huge mistakes have been made and we have spent millions only to get relegated and are now reliant on the very same man that has made those mistakes and those are facts that you cant dispute. I can understand you putting your blind trust in the man thats a personal decision but to me claiming "naivety" just doesnt wash and doesnt fill me with confidence about the long term future with him in charge.
