Samba did look like scoring from a few corners last season and was unlucky. If he wants to stay and we can afford to keep him a year then definitely keep him. Starts pre season Monday he'll be a different player come August.

So many statements are made solely for reaction purposes I'm sure of it.

You mean the claim that Samba is premier league level Matty?

Get him fit, make him captain and build a unit around him.

I reckon some of you boys are nuts. Samba clearly suffered from lack of fitness last season and was always playing catch up. The lad is a top CB and when teams are lining up in January to sign him the same people who are slaging him off now will be praying he stays. The Russian league may not be on par with the premiership but it pisses all over the championship in terms of standard and quality.

So the reason he looked so poor last season was because he wasnt fit? He came in January so how long does it take the big lump to get fit then? Think Championship is his standard so hope we keep him, the money does **** me off though as it makes us out to look right clowns paying £12 million and ludicrous wages for him. As for goalscoring, look at his record. He averages 1 goal for every 10 games so i am just more concerned with his defending. Big lump but slow, uncomfortable with the ball and poor distribution. Dominates the box with his height and strength which is why i hope he stays for next season but if there are any mugs like our board who are willing to take him off the wage bill and pay triple his worth then we should sell him and use the fee and wages to bring in 2 or 3 defenders as good.

It wasn't a fluke that he played brilliantly for Blackburn for 2/3 seasons and got rave reviews that 2 clubs since have paid £10m plus for him! He was thrown in unfit in our complete desperation under a new manager with a team full of d1ckheads in the toughest league in the world where morale was at an all time low.

In January there will be the bottom 6 in the premiership who will be more than interested. Let's not forget the standard of defender we have had in the past.

You have a point Yugo. Get him fit till January and if he still looks as poor as last season then sell him high to a desperate Prem team. Worked last year for Anzi.

The only 2 teams that have paid £10 million plus are Anzi and us and both could be labelled as being run by people with more money than sense. Blackburn paid £450k for him and lets be honest he should never have be bought for more than £3 - £5 million but unfotunately we panicked and chucked lots of money at him (thats our business model last 2 seasons).

Personally think this is complete BS and he'll definitely be with us next season. In that division I wouldn't be surprised if he scored 10 goals tbh, especially if we manage to sign a player who can take FK's and corners.
The annoying thing i find on this board is posters just plough on with "facts" that have been denied by our club, in this case the £100k pw our players are on. Do QPR fans not listen to interviews
from our hierarchy ? He did also say we would be keeping him so not sure about this and agree with you Del I think he'll be too good for the championship.

I'd like to see Samba 100% fit before making judgements, if fullyfit, him and Nedum would be strong in the middle
Prefer Nedum as captain, much better English and more long term potential and less likely to leave and have mood swings.

I doubt that we want to sell him.

But have to say I agree with Rich's comments below - Samba is a quality defender. It's QPR are the $hit club that have ruined him. Just looking at the players that have flopped with us: Samba, Zamora (arguably), Park, Granero, Hoilett etc - all proven top level players. The common denominator here is QPR. I guarantee the likes of Samba, Hoilett & Granero will be mustard at their next club (should they move on).
