Exeter are rumoured to have sold two 15 year olds to Spurs and Man. Utd. for a not unsubstantial amount of wedge. You can bring them up but still lose them at a tender age, Rehman and Bostock classic examples. If clubs like ours are going to invest heavily in academies then we need that investment protected. Hands off until they are at least 19.
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

I dont think any club had an issue with fighting off interest for him. He's languishing in a remote league abroad now. I think you mean raheem sterling?

I'd rather we bought some quality youngsters that are ready to start in the 1st 11. I really can't get excited about what could be in 20 years time, I am worried about the team I currently support now, and that 1st 11 is a disgrace where we have zero promising youngsters breaking into the 1st team. Ok maybe right back but more fringe so like I said nothing!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Really pleased for our club, it kind of feels like the old skool QPR.

Well done to everyone at the club and thank you.

Academies make no difference unless clubs can afford incubators.

                    Re-read your post.

You don't care about the academy and what it actually means for the future but at the same time it's a disgrace because we have no youngsters coming through (because we had no academy).

That's the problem. Too much short-termism

This is absolutely fantastic news for the club. Well done everyone involved!
