  • Don't get what arry is thinking

Wether you like them or not dj and jay score goals at this level fact, both have stated there desire to stay and would be on less money when they sign a new deal.
But instead we have a player on mega money with a glass knee and another one on even more mega money can't walk and don't like football!!!!
    Crazy!!!!

It'll be because they are more attractive to others due to their lower earnings and as you quite rightly say, they have done it before at this level.

The Zamora's, Cisse's and Johnson's of this world haven't done it at this level, earn too much for anyone else to be interested & probably aren't as enthused due to their earnings and where they have played before.

      It does seem rather strange.

Do we think they are gonna be able to manage the step down?

Cisse could be lethal... The others are to injury prone... Aj wouldn't get into my five a side team

Cisse in the right frame of mind would certainly be lethal. The lazy, disinterested Cisse on the other hand well, we all know how that would go.

            You dont rate AJ then?

I would rather go into the season with Bothroyd and Campbell than hope that Zamora and Johnson can stay fit.

I also hope that Remy stays and manages to stay focussed on his football until his trail (also hope he is innocent of the serious charge against him so that he can at least play on until January).

Although, I would like to think that QPR will sign a striker like Gayle or Austin too. To have a great chance of winning promotion, a club needs to have 3 or 4 strikers who can score. Otherrwise the club is playing a 'hope no striker gets a serious injury' game.

When QPR went up they had Taarabt, Helguson, Mackie and Smith.

Totally agree. Imagine him inside the bear pit of a goals 5 a side match. One smash against the side boards and the stretcher would be straight on.

I suspect there is a bigger picture here. Reduce wage bill and get in players on better contracts for us who can do a job at this level and hopefully make the step up if we do get promoted. Also we know a list of players has been agreed between 'Arry and the board and that will include strikers.

Zamora and Johnson, if you keep them fit, very good at this level and lots of experience in both top divisions. Will need another couple as well though. May have Remy for at least the first half of the season. Not sure if any youngsters up front we could start to introduce?

I get it 100%, we need to reduce the wage bill and nobody is daft enough to take Zamora or Johnson off us cos as you said, they're both crocked and overpaid. Personally I'm not sad to see Bothroyd go, he's been massively disappointing!

Off the top of my head only that skepitas and Hewitt spring to mind.

That's exactly my point at the top. I think Bothroyd in the championship when comparing age, fitness/how injury prone, wages etc with the likes of Zamora, Cisse and Johnson is about level overall VFM. Maybe Bothroyd is better VFM slightly due to his significantly lower earnings (apparently). Bottom line is Bothroyd will attract interest as he's had at least 1 good season in the championship with Cardiff and isn't out of everyones price range when it comes to wages.
