In all honesty I hope he goes.

No doubt he is on a very decent wage which for his lack of talent is undeserving and that could be put to good use paying the weekly wage of 2 or even 3 players. Poor scoring record, lazy, not getting any younger all reason enough for me to say bye bye.

Saw this on LFW, apparently a leak of the contract agreement when he signed

            "Hi Gianni,

Further to our conversation an hour ago I want to confirm that the
details below is the official final offer from Queens park Rangers FC:

            Player
Term 2 Years ( compulsory option for 3rd year if QPR are in Premier League
and the player makes 19 appearances in the 2013/2014 season ).
            Salary £25,000 per week ( including S.O.F ) = £1,300,000.
Appearance £2,500 per game ( named in 18 man squad )
Bonus £250,000 for each season QPR remain in the Premier League ( payable at the end of each season )
£2,500 per game ( named in 18 man squad ) if QPR remain in Premier League ( payable at the end of each season )
Relegation If QPR are relegated in the 2011/2012 season then the player will be allowed to leave for the price of £1,250,000.
The player will receive £250,000 from the £1,250,000.
Buy-Out The player will have a buy-out price of £2,500,000. This will be applicable at the end of the 2011/2012 season if QPR remain in the Premier League.
Agents Fee £130,000 per year (£260,000) as per representation agreement.
£25,000 payable each year QPR are in Premier League.

Please confirm by return that the above is correct.
            Best,
            Sky "

Absolutely shocking if that is legit.

If true, he's certainly had a lot of "appearance" bonuses - and no mention of relegation release clause for 2012/13.

Doesn't want to go abroad, and too good for the Championship (in his head ) so maybe back to Cardiff ? Can't see them paying him what we are though

QPR have sacked Bothroyd by invoking a relegation clause in his contract..... Can you imagine that?? The sooner someone breaks the power of players the better. Am eager to see that tattooed oik leave.

Again, if true, that also highlights how much these (unting agents suck out of the game.

Agents earn mega dough mate. Even just small timers. Fella I know recently passed agents tests / exams or whatever to gain his license & reckons he will have himself a few young upcoming lads frmo various PL clubs (couple from Foolham I know of) and he is on 10% of their wages - just his few young lads equates to him bringing in about £3,500 a week and that's in his first 5 minutes in the game. 1 "big" player on the books earning, say, £40k a week will more than double that.

                          I'm in the wrong career!

The Mirror article has a bit more substance that the one in the Star and it makes sense. If we can shot of Bothroyd on a free transfer then that is exactly what we should do. Shame there aren't more in our squad with the same type of release clauses!

Its easy to see why people leech from the game with the sums involved.
