I'm not going to delve into the reason on a MB as I was told in confidence, but suffice to say if you knew the actual reason he didn't play that much you would laugh your socks off and then most probably not play him either.

It wasn't that long ago that he was being compared to Patrick Viera (a player who also frequently got booked or sent off)on this and other sites.
Diakite is a good player, and he is strong, and enegetic and the way he just glides past players with the ball is quite impressive. Yes, he seems to be a bit eratic, but if he can be coached and managed correctly who could easily be one of the best midfielders in the Championship.
