Surely that means he has won?? What a waste of money it would be to smash 3.5 million to get rid off someone who could help us back up

IMO Joey may have said wrong things now and then but he will always work hard. And therefore for that reason I would keep the guy.

Whats done is done... But I wouldnt be played to be the fool and get rid for that kind of cash.

He has two years left, 2 massive years in his career. If he wants to go so bad. HE SHOULD BE PAYING US!!! We aint some sort of charity, we are a business as well guys.

... By the way, he is allowed a twitter account and opinion whether we like or not.
But he doesn't want to play for us......and this "offer" if true, that he has made proves this.
I think btw while a footballer is contracted to a club they can tell him to get off twitter or stop him from doing whatever they want

i hate this c*nt with a passion. i'd rather he rot than pay this pr*ck off. If he wants marseille that bad he'll just go but i cant see it. far too greedy for that.
It seems perfectly normal to him to want to keep collecting QPR wages but play elsewhere. How they got into this mess i don't know, its mental.

So are you telling me, they can physically STOP footballers doing things because they have a contract?

Im sorry but, they can fine him for wrong doing with twitter but can stop him....

He wants to leave so he should leave and be done with it, no way we should pay him anything to leave.

It's in the sun so not necessarily true, if anyone has a twitter account why not tweet him and ask if it's true.

We don't need to name a squad in championship so get him back to HQ and if he is disruptive let him train with the kids!

A great idea, but with the thousands of people that do tweet him...

            Im sure he wont reply...

He did just say lots of rumours again, NONE ARE TRUE...

Make of it what you will

              Joseph Barton ‏@Joey7Barton 1m
I haven't had a conversation with anyone at QPR since February. When I told them Marseille had offered me 3 years. That was last I heard.

Since february? That cant be right...

They know where I am if they want to talk.

No wonder Mike Ashley was so eager to get him out of newcastle.

what annoys me here is that barton keeps appearing on the telly saying he wants to go to marseille permanently, that the wages are lower there, but y'know that's france and he's not driven by greed or money... it's just that qpr are being a bit mean to him and denying him his dream move.

now according to the sun, he wants £3.5m to go. according to the guardian, we'll let him go on a free, marseille want him, but he doesn't fancy taking a pay cut. i can't understand why anyone thinks him being back at our club could be a good thing - i hope his dream move falls through and that he goes on strike because it's all so unfair on him and that we can then sue the pants off him for blatantly refusing to honour his contract.

Think you answered your own question here....

we are not being mean, we are a business as well as a football team.

If HE wants to go, then sure he can for free. If not he stays unless his new club want to give us some sort of cash

As someone else has said we hold the aces. He is contracted to pay for us for another two years. If he refuses to then he is in breach of contract and should be continually fined and eventually sued. He wants out of his contract he shold be paying us to get out of the contract not the other way around.

Time for TF to show his mettle and let players know who's boss. Joey is just one scrote and should be no big deal for the board to tell him how it is and he either comes back with his tail between his legs, we sell him to some unfortunate club or he pays out his contract if the board are willing to let him do this.

Time to stop to Twitter nonsense Joseph. The majority of his followers only do so as he continually makes a priick of himself and it provides them with some entertainment. Thinking about it his Twitter followers have probably got more out of him than we have!

IF he is on the £70k that is being reported, then us spending £3.5m is essentially buying him out of his contract which is a waste of money.

He is currently taking part in a course to earn his coaching badges. With his history and the way he operates, what club in their right mind would honestly employ him to coach youngsters/senior players.

It is simple enough. It is the RUBBISH players the club needs to pay off. Barton is not one of the overpaid flops from last season.

By all accounts he turned up for training, worked hard, performed well, and competed for the title in France. Any one of those attributes puts him head and shoulders above any of the CMs at the club.

I am sure his abrasive manner is an annoyance to the club. But to be honest if Harry wants him back and the dross gone then forget paying Barton off, keep him and pay off the flops that are so bad nobody will buy.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to have him back and fine him when he gets booked or sent off?

if he has a contract, don't understand why we would pay him off.
his comments about not caring about the money are rubbish, we know that
go for nothing or stay and honour your contract, that's what I'd offer him
