If you cheat on your partner, you are not a trusted person and that's the person you are most closest to, what do you do? Lie.

Do you really think that every manager / chairman tells the truth all the time?

Are you telling me that you don't lie, go and look at yourself in the mirror and tell that to yourself.

You are on a loosing wicket Dazzer...... rather than the fanbase being pleased with the signings made by Paladini etc so far, AND the FACT that some sort of approach was made for Hooper.....

They'd much rather clog up the message boards calling for his head.

      I truly despair:confused:

Dazzer mate now its you jumping to conclusions - how can you possibly claim the BBC "misquoted" Paladani any more than others can claim as "fact" that Paladini lied. Lets be consistent here.

          Unfortunately...you're right.

Sure, they'll deny they are looking to blame GP for anything possible, but the fact is...they really are. It's the same with certain posters views on players. Some still won't admit Cerny is better than Camp. That Dex should have stayed unless being replaced. That Ramage is woeful. All about opinions and all that, but some won't change thiers even if video evidence was put in front of them to prove it.
          Your mum would love me...

I think there has been a lot of spin fed to the fans, especially at the time of the takeover with talk of champions league etc, and from this expectations have been too high. And from that comes frustration and a lack of trust. Also the way Holloway was dealt with, and the gun incident being thrown out in court and then never really spoken about again, people start to wonder after a while. And the Sousa sacking... QPR has become a soap opera.

If the owners etc want more trust, then I suggest they stop over-promising and under-delivering. Be honest and open as much as is wise in a business sense, and gradually repair the lost trust from a lot of fans. I think fans WANT to trust them, but it is hard sometimes.
Could not agree more. As far as Hooper goes there is certainly a difference between 'ENQUIRING' about a player and 'MAKING A BID' for a player.

I've been in two situations which spring to mind at QPR when I have been in and around interviews taking place both times they were misquoted on the BBC's website and in the Press (Sean Davies vs Rufus Brevett and an incident with a supporter going for Chris Wright). Believe me it happens all the time. I believe what I have heard to be true. I've made my assumptions on things I have been told vs things I have read. Either way do you feel supporters sould be posting things like GP OUT etc over us trying to sign a striker... As I say and will keep saying we suffer with having too many fickle *****ic fans!

Dazzer1977 - I agree what you say about having to many fickle fans but the flip side of that is the reason why nothing changes is because we have to many poodles who just roll over, have their tummy tickled and accept anything.

Dazzer - I'm a journalist so know the score. Over the years it has amazed me the number of times you can speak to two people who have had a conversation and they both have completely different accounts of what was said.

Re your other point if you look at my posts today and yesterday I've consistently been defending Gianni until we know the facts and also pointing out how many brilliant signings he has made. Agree some are using this as an excuse to drag up all sorts of ancient stuff and have their own agendas.

Equally, just as Labour found with all its spinning, sooner or later you do get found out and it just saps away all the good will that was there for you. IF - and it is an if - the club did mislead then I hope they've clocked the reaction, learned the lesson and will be a bit more careful about hyping stuff. Fans meanwhile have to accept that if they want info 24/7 now there are going to be whispers/ hints / tips etc which turn out to be wrong.

Either way, knowing Gianni suspect he will respond to all this by pulling out all the stops to bring in Hooper in January - and if he does I'll be the first to applaud him.

Trouble with Gianni Stainrod is it doesn't matter what he does, there will always be a select few who'll always have daggers out for him. There are a few trolls on this board who do exactly the same with Pete! Oh what exciting lives they must lead

Well there is an issue of trust, but agree some people just refuse to see the positive.

Also fans tend to hark back to the old days. Now Jim Gregory is regarded as a saint, but I can remember sitting in SAR as a kid and being shocked how fans would scream abuse about "get your ******* wallet out" etc.

Dazzer - I agree, people do seem not to like Paladini which is life I suppose, but the flip side of that is that no matter what he does that can not be explained, a select few always stick up for him and suggest that anyone who disagrees with them are fickle, ungrateful fans.

God can you imagine if the internet was so readily available back in the 80's.. the amount of brown envalopes and briefcases that took place back in the day was crazy! Anyone know about the Dougie Freeman transfer back in the day.... Then again come to think of it some on here would probably say that was Gianni's fault too!

What was the Dougie Freeman transfer - a bit of Brian Clough style meeting in the Little Chef on the M6 for the brown envelope exchange?

A deeper problem with message board/ rumours is now fans get to hear way more about what is going on inside a club - who they are thinking of bidding for etc when it used to be that the first you knew something was up was when a signing was announced in the Evening Standard.

Whatever line of work everyone on here is in (or not in ) probably we cd all tell stories about their colleagues doing this or that which prob wouldn't look too good to the general public.

Still think Gianni owes us Hooper tho :byebye:

Something will develop in the next week or so with regards to a striker unless we start smashing them in!

Hasn't this already been done to death. Why re-hash it again. All that's hapened now is the same points are being argued over again.

                                - Paladinin may have been misquoted
                                - Paladini lied
                                - Some posters are ungrateful, negative and whingers
                                - Some posters can't think for themselves and beleve everything they are told, therefore cannot see the bigger picture
                                - QBP knows I'm always right but his pride won't let him admit it.
