Harry Redknapp left furious after Queens Park Rangers' bid for free agent Wayne Bridge is hijacked by Reading
Harry Redknapp is seriously considering his future at Queens Park Rangers after Reading hijacked his bid to sign Wayne Bridge.

Redknapp has been left stunned and is heading for a row with his board following a shattering blow to his squad rebuilding plans in the Championship.
Bridge had held talks with Redknapp over a move to Loftus Road on a free transfer but negotiations stalled to allow Reading to complete a deal on Thursday night.
The former England international defender has signed a one-year contract with Nigel Adkins's team after his release from Manchester City to leave Redknapp furious and contemplating whether to walk away.
Redknapp is keen to rip his squad apart following relegation from the Premier League and had identified Bridge, 32, as a priority signing.
On Thursday evening he was still battling to rescue the deal but Bridge sealed his move to Reading after a stringent medical.
The 66 year-old is understood to have clashed repeatedly with chief executive Philip Beard this summer over transfers and he is said to be "staggered" that the club even failed to complete a deal for a free agent.
Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes is believed to have spoken with Redknapp in a bid to ease the tension but the former Tottenham manager is running out of patience with the club's recruitment policy.
The West London club are keen to shift their top earners as they attempt to lower a mammoth wage bill, after finishing bottom in the Premier League last season.

maybe i am being a little sceptical but looks like Harry wants to be away on his toes... you dont think he engineered the story about wanting Bridge knowing full well that Bridge was going to sign for Reading... so again he can look blameless and gives him good grounds too quit...
... maybe i am just reading a little to much into it...

Well if Redknapp is still looking for quick fixes - aged players on 65k a week who couldn't be bothered in the prem, let alone the championship - then I have to seriously wonder if he has learned much about why we got relegated. And all before he has got a single high earner off the wage bill. Don't blame Tony for standing up to him. If he will really walk over the failure to sign Wayne Bridge then he clearly isn't committed to the job anyway....

Afterall, wasnt it Beard who negotiated the deals for all of Hughes pre-season signings. He agreed their over inflated wages.
Redknapp is correct in saying that Beard and the Board are not football people (they have proved this over the last two seasons (most would have kept faith in Warnock to see if he could have reversed QPR's poor form).
As for signing Bridge, he is better at left back than Traore and a better option that Hill. The South Korean left back may not be up to the standard just yet and may need a season to do so. This would mean a 2 year deal for Bridge could be just what is needed.
Redknapp is also correct in saying that he should have no interference, as it is him who will be judged on the team's results.

Harry loves to give the press juicy sound bites and slope his shoulders ...if as he says he is a football man then Harry ...do that stick to the football and leave the running of the club to the people who own it and run it! He can't have his cake and eat it too!!
