The player and his agent will force a move to the club he wants to go to and we'll have to be prepared to take whatever we can get for him. Personally I think 1m is pretty good business for us all things considered.

£1M for a 33 year old keeper is not a fee to be sniffed at, but then again, keepers can play at a high level into their late 30s and early 40s, recently keepers like Seaman, Schmeicel, Van der Sar, Lehman,Friedel, Scwarzer etc, have played to this age, so a £2M for a world class international keeper of 33 is a reasonable fee.

On the other hand, QPR/Redknapp have made it well known that they would like him to go so QPR cannot really be in a position to try and haggle too much.

Cesar definitely came on a free. Inter tried to force a reduction in salary on him, he refused and both parties agreed to let him walk away from the contract. Probably no skin off Cesar's nose as we were daft enough to give him a pay rise!
