Anyone know what the latest is with regards to Joey Barton? Obviously his loan deal is finished in France so you'd assume he'd have to report back to Loftus Road for pre-season (unless there any offers on the table for him). Judging by the noises from Tony Fernandes his current loan deal (where we are still paying more than half of his wages), won't continue. If anyone wants Joey I reckon they will have to take him completely off our wage bill.

I'm a little torn by this one. Part of me thinks that Joey has had far too much to say and p*ssed off too many people to come back in the fold. Then there is part of me that thinks that whilst he is outspoken, some of the time he does say what a lot of other people are thinking and he was treated pretty badly by Hughes etc after the Man City incident.

Could anyone else see Harry offering an Olive Branch to Joey and having him back next season? Given the season we've just had, if Harry thought his head was right for it, personally I don't think I'd mind seeing him back. He'd certainly put a better shift in than most of the dross that have turned out for us this season!

There's no doubting that Barton could do a great job for us, the problem is within his head. His attitude is not right and if he came back into the squad he could be too disruptive. I think he'd be resentful being forced back to play for us and we'd probably see more of the kind of incidents we saw at the Etihad.

Too much of a risk I'm afraid. Perhaps both sides should agree to a termination of his contract.

I would like to start some sort of online campaign to get Kirill to unban himself.......he speaks a lot of sense regarding joey....and I would also like to add that joey is a total bellend....

Why do some people keep banging on about if he came back he could upset the squad and be disruptive etc...... Anyone would think this year without him has been all rosy in Camp QPR, where in fact the exact opposite has been the case with in fighting, rifts, inner groups etc. Who knows, with Barton around to rally people or inject a bit of a sense of humour among the players it may have been better.

As for me, i say get him back ASAP. He may not be the most blessed player in the world (although a lot better than some of our fans suggest due to some indifferent games) but he is exactly what we were missing last season. Add to that he has experience of winning the championship and wont shirk the challenge.

Also, since serving his ban, the guy has pretty much been an ever present in the Marseilles side who finished 2nd in the French league, just 12 points behind a free spending PSG, which is more or less the same gap between Utd and City this season.... and yet people are seriously suggesting he couldn't do a job for us in the 2nd tier of English football.....

As for olive branches, i actually think Harry would like that sort of player. and besides he let Bosingwa back into the first team, so why not.

I thought the subject of this post was does anybody know if Marseilles (or anybody else) has put in an offer for him or is he on his way back to Rangers. When does his loan officially end. It should be some time soon.

according to french media outlet barton has been offered a 3 year contract at om but with reduced wages.
