Harry has already said he wants to bring in 1 or 2 "golden oldies" to help us next season. He did the same with Sheringham and Merson, he did ok with them!

Agreed you need a few older heads in that league but we need to make sure we get older heads that are proper grafters and not old boys looking for 1 last payday.

Lets not forget that it was hughes that built this squad of mercenaries. I dont think harry or any other manager is capable of building such a rotten squad so I imagine if we can lose most of this lot we'll get in a group of players that are well balanced in every way. Despite some of harrys 'funny' decisions over the last part of the season, he is still a far better manager than hughes and I really cant see him messing it up like hughes did when buying in new players.

I reckon Crouch will be good player so have, would lead the line well, and certainly not past it.

I would just add though that if Crouch replaces say Zamora and Dunne replaces Haim and the rest of the squad stays then that team is still gonna be hanging around the foot of the table next year. Can't see any shot at even the play offs unless Harry can bring in about 8 players who he rates which means offloading half a dozen flops minimum and probably more. June is a big month because pre season starts in July and you would want the new faces in place by then so they can settle. Doubt it will happen but its what is needed to have a decent season.

              Good post.

Agree mate, but so far those are only rumours. Let's wait until August and then can judge TF.

Dont us fans learn from our mistakes too - It was long ago when we signed "Mackie, Hill and Derry" and fans on here said how rubbish they were, how old Derry and Hll are" and they turned out to be our best 3 players for the last 3 years and we won promotion with them (yes we got relagated but it wasnt there fault, they still gave us 100%). Last year people said at the begin of our season that most of MH singnng were world beaters and we are looking at a top 10 season we got relegated because they were ****.

When will we understand stand, you need a mixture of different characters, skills and ages to build a squad up. You need people like Crouch who care for the club and Dunne who to be honest is a hard bugger who will stand up to anyone who steps out of line regardless of who they are.

Come on lets give everyone our support and chance and not knock them even before they signed for once. Yes some will be good signings and some will be pooh, we just need to pooh bracket to be a lot shorter than the good one.
