  • How do managers get away with it?

    Mark Hughes:-

"Players were brought in but to have a really strong club it's not just about the team on the field but the team off it and everything else that goes into it. If you don't have strong pillars underpinning what you do it is very difficult to be successful. QPR did really well to stay in the Premier League in the first season, though that seems to have been airbrushed out of history now. I think maybe one of the failings was the lack of a collective, winning mentality. You can bring in players from top clubs but you still have to form a team that knows how to win Premier League matches, which is really difficult. Stoke have that already. That's why I am really pleased to be here. This is a strong squad in every sense. This is a group that is used to being in the Premier League, they have the mentality and the knowhow to win games, without a shadow of a doubt."

That just screams a total lack of responsibility for what he did here at QPR! Its like he thinks it was not his job to deal with players that HE got in and form them into a winning team. What is the managers job then Mark?

This bit: "This is a group that is used to being in the Premier League, they have the mentality and the knowhow to win games, without a shadow of a doubt." just angers me....lost for words when it comes to this clown. What an arrogant lazy tw@t.

Hughes will just ride on this one and hope that he gets his reputation back as a PL level manager...if he does, it wont be his input, it'll be the players.

Covering his and his teams @rse.
My old man was the star player for HMP Parkhurst during their successful and unbeaten 77/78 season.

So he basically admits to being incapable of building a good team. Smug incompetent b a s t a r d.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,

I think its a ****** cheek to be honest. At the end of the day he was the one that bought 15 players to the club and all 15 were bad buys. He bought Park and made him Captain and he can't even speak any english.

Dont believe that for a moment...think Park and one or two others was Fernandes playing Football Manager and thinking more about our profile than team balance. Think we may be surprised how well Hughes does at Stoke without an owner like Fernandes upsetting the dressing room with some players on ludicrous wages. Hope he is sacked by Christmas personally but got a feeling Stoke will be in their normal mid table position by end of season. Mind you always a chance Kia could **** it up for him :-)

In fairness to Park, it was hardly his fault that the other players were far too lazy to bother learning Korean ;-)>

Ref Park; pretty sure Hughes said himself that he wanted Park? Said Fernandes highlighted that he was available but transfers were down to Hughes & Hughes said he jumped at the chance to sign him?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

what was Hughes going to say? that Park wasnt his idea? or that he didnt want him? Fernandes wanted Park for marketing and made him Captain (or heavily suggested it). Same with Cesar i believe and maybe a couple of others too...its was all about raising the clubs profile and getting some "names" no matter the cost which ultimately led to the disruption in the dressing room and made Hughes's job untenable.

No, no, no that's completely wrong because it does not fit with the "every single thing that has gone wrong with QPR is Tony Fernandes fault" theory

Well i guess we will see how Hughes does at Stoke without Fernandes and Beard wont we....personally think he is a useless manager but i dont think our disastrous season was all down to him. Think he played a part but shouldnt take the major blame. Lets see how he does at Stoke without a naive plum as an owner.

Yet another anti-Fernandes smear. You've not a single shred of evidence that Park or any other player were Fernandes brand signings.

As for the wages issue and Fernandes upsetting the dressing room, Clint Hill recently said in an interview that he didn't mind what other players earned as long as they did their jobs. That was down to Hughes to make sure they did and in that he failed miserably.

You have no idea what the players are earning so how do you know the wages are ludicrous?

We know you don't like Fernandes but when you've been asked, you've consistently failed to come up with a suitable replacement.

Here's a little challenge for you:

                        1. Prove Park and perhaps others were Fernandes playing football manager and were brand-building signings.

                        2. Provide details of what the players are earning.

                        3. Put forward the name of a suitable chairman.

If you can answer these questions, then respect to you. If not, then we can all draw our own conclusions on the value of your comments.

                        Over to you pal.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I know exactly what you mean......But as I said yesterday....... that after his very public f*** up at our place........the Stoke owners STILL seem to think that he's the man!

Don't get me wrong, I think the blokes a total c*** but people obviously see something in his managerial 'ability'....

That is correct Matty. Hughes wanted him and publicly said so. Straight from the horse's mouth. That's clear evidence in my book, unlike the speculations of others......

Its just positive spin. Every new manager does it. He's not gonna turn around and say "I was rubbish". Forget about it and move on.
