    Ain't he a former boxer?

Is he the one who scored an O.G. or two last season? I just wonder- it was an Aston Villa player, I think.

I seem to remember people whinging that Ryan Nelsen was too old and slow when we signed him a year ago but he proved a few wrong didn't he?

Given where we are Dunne would be a good signing in my opinion!
        100% spot on.

This guy looks slow, but is actually not when he gets going. He's been a tough all or nothing defender all his career in the top flight and endless caps for ireland, yet some say he couldn't do a job for us in the championship.....

I wonder, are those saying no thanks Clint Hill fans...? Clint is a year older than Dunne, and been a similar type of defender but spent all bar the last 2 years in the lower leagues.

        Think about it.

Get him in on a one-year deal and make him Captain.

You don't need pace if you have the experience to be in the right place already.

Dunne has the same spirit and fight as Hill.

Couldn't agree more lack of leadership has been a major problem Dunne would help resolve that for sure.

Dunne would be a bit like Nelsen - not going to make headlines but he would be a solid reliable CD who knows his job and can guide those around him - don't need his hand holding or reminding to run or try either, which would make a welcome difference to most of the current squad.

Think he is just what you need in the championship if he is fit. Experienced and will not get bullied by brut's in the lower league

Excellent defender and a lot quicker than either Hill or Nelson (who was probably our best player last year) if signed will be a very good buy on many fronts.

1st step in Harry trying to change the dressing room. Shrewd signing.

Shay Given and Stephen Ireland would improve us as well. Green is hopeless.

Our centre back quartet could be Hill Onouha Samba and Dunne.

Sounds good enough to me, especially in this division.

Correct. Sir Bobby Moore proved that being a great centre back isn't based on just pace. It's more to do with the ability to read the game and to be in the right place at the right time.

Adams and Keown weren't quick but were a formidable partnership. Same with Dolly and Daisy.
