Why do people think that by getting another job Hughes will be off our wage bill? We are paying him compensation for sacking him i imagine that we will still have to pay that even if he has a new job!

      Is the wrong answer!

When Mark Hughes was asked to leave QPR, Tony Fernandes decided to leave him on the payroll rather than pay him off the remainder of his contract or negotiate a pay off. Should Hughes wish to begin employment with a new club he will need to terminate his contract with QPR. If Fernandes wanted to be picky he could also ask for a fee from Stoke, although given the circumstances I'm sure he will just be happy to have him off the payroll!

My understanding, naive perhaps, was that the club is paying him his monthly wage as agreed in his contract. However if he takes another post, then he is no longer under contract and hence wages cease.

Ahhhhh....that may explain why TF said the door isnt closed to hughes. He cant say he isnt welcome while he is still 'officially' on contract and TF is probably aware that saying anything else could mean is in breach of that contract. Hopefully hughes gets he job.

Exactly right...it's called playing to your teams strengths and getting the best out of the players at your disposal.

Would love it if Hughes went to Wigan so we could rip them apart next season......

I cant see the board letting him loose with much of a transfer kitty after he ****ed millions away at LR!!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

                      2015/2016, average at best.....

                      2016/2017, same old, same old....

                      2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

shame we did not swap TP with MH at start of the season ,wouldn't have been pretty but we wouldn't be getting a reduction on our ST's either
Football played the Charlie Ferris way

Amazing..... Football manager is the only job where you can fail, get a hugh payoff and then get offered another job.... unreal!!

Although like I said he might do really well for Stoke.

spot on. compensation in full is paid when sacked and taken off the payroll. Fernades, chose to relieve him of his duties, but kept him on the payroll. Once he gets another job, it's no more wages.

Similar ruling as used in many divorce cases. the ex gets maintenance each month to keep her (or him) in the custom to which they became used to. Once she/he remarries, the ex no longer has to keep paying maintenance (child support for children still gets paid)

How much was Hughes on at QPR? getting him off the payroll is probably worth getting 2 or 3 players off it!

Isn't the c@nt off our wage bill yet???
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
