I was just thinking his post is surely a wind up. Bit like saying my order of preference on sleeping partner goes something like this:

I wasn't on a wind-up. I know there wasn't no question mark, but I took the title of this thread as a question. Wembley or Automatic? Do you see?
Obviously I would prefer automatic, but if not, then I would settle for promotion through the play-offs.

I think most have missed his point to be fair.....

The debate was autoatic or playoff win..... he's basically said he'd want to win the championship given a choice, rather than a playoff promotion, and would also prefer to go up in 2nd spot before a playoff win..... Some may say they'd prefer to go up via playoffs, or if we dont win the league prefer playoffs than 2nd place.

Is it really that difficult to understand....

I love positive threads like this and I think we need more of them.
For instance:

I would prefer we rebuild our squad next season and perhaps go up when we are stronger the following season. I am worried If we go up next season that we go straight back again. I fancy us going up when we are strong and ready to stay like WBA. We need at least 2 seasons to rebuild the currecnt squad imho.

As a clube we need to go bask ASAP. West Brom you refer to bounced straight back, so not sure of the comparison to then suggest we stay down another year.

As for building, we have very good players among our squad thet every team in the championship would die for... make no mistake of this. We have some bad apples to ship out ideally, but whoever remains we should have possibly the best squad in the division and supposedly one of the best managers so we should be challenging.

If we go up they can then build on the success with a couple of additions that summer rather than wholesale changes every window which has been our downfall.

No, not as the OP specifically asked what our particular preferences are.

3rd place? That only means you go into a lottery with the teams that finish in 4th, 5th, and 6th.

Look, I'll make it simple for you........I would prefer to go up automatically, than be involved in the lottery that is the play-offs, but if we do end up in the play-offs and win, I will gladly take it, but it wouldn't be my prefered way.

Without questioning how on earth you gained this info (police assured me on confidentiality?!) - I would like to point out that this charge has been retrospectively revoked. I was simply up that tree trying to fetch my ball. I have also paid for a new tree to be planted. I hope this puts the matter to bed.

Champions without a doubt, so we can enjoy it this time, last time was ruined by the Faurlin fiasco and NW not getting Manager of the Year !

Surely when you play any sport, you want to be the best. To win games and eventually to win Trophies.

So up as Champions for me, coz I love that trophy, it should have been ours in '76 and it was ours in 2011, so I'd like it again and this time with a parade to celebrate.

Otherwise, I 'might' prefer the Playoff route on the proviso that we win (another trophy) over Runners Up who get zip.
On another day, I might prefer the certainty of coming second, which to tie in with others Supermodel preferences, is how I always aim to end things.
