It makes sense for newcastle to want a new cb but I can't see them going anywhere but ligue 1. I don't mind if he stays because he seems to genuinely care about the club but if he does go, I won't be too disappointed

There is no way samba will be with us next season unless the board play hard ball and hold out for an offer equal to what we shelled out for him . In reality samba is a very good cb and we certainly didn't see the best of him last season due to many different reasons . I personally don't think he was one of the ponces robbing a living off of us and providing we get a decent price I won't be sad to see him go as I honestly think he's probably too big a player for the championship . If much rather spend the money we recoup on a couple of younger decent centre halves who want to play for qpr and want to learn and improve . With the money we get from some of our lot we should be able to assemble a pretty decent side next year in my opinion

It is quite a weird situation in that, like most here, I wouldn't mind having him in the championship but in all honesty, I feel no actual connection to him in the same sense as (for example) Taarabt where I would be disappointed if he left. If he stays, he needs to prove that he can be as amazing at full fitness as his transfer value and high wages suggest he should be."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. Damp squib.
He's a quality player & those that have seen him in the past will agree but as usual it just hasn't worked out at QPR. Personally I think he owes us a season with full fitness behind him to help us go back up & if not after that we sell. Can't see him staying though myself.

Go stay I don't mind, Samba & the board have made it clear to me that he's staying for next season. IMO I prefer Onouha, however if a fully fit Samba plays then he's unplayableUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Samba is good and worth a place in one of the "challenging for european place" EPL teams and I see him and Remy as completely different to the other big contract types at the club. Those two have an excellent chance of attracting bids from clubs that will match the transfer fee and wages. Don't think that applies to anyone else on the books which is a big problem.
