  • On Paper we shouldn't have got relegated!!!

As much as we can blame Hughes.
The transfer saga of Hoillet signing was the start.
Did anyone disagree with that signing?

No-one thought we could secure Julio Cesar.

Park, when signed was welcomed as someone that we thought would add something to the squad.

I can remember when Mbia signed, we all got excited again.

Even if you look at Hughes signings, none of us really disagreed with any of them.
The saviour in Harry couldn't sort this squad out.
Even Joe Jordan couldn't sort it, and he doesn't take any sh*t.

I do blame Hughes for giving statements like we will never be in that relegation battle again.
But even the change in Harry, Jordan etc couldn't do nothing either!!

    The players are to blame.

I disagreed .................... never understood how chasing 3 of Blackburn's relegation squad was going to do us any favours, obviously pleasantly surprised with Nelson, but you can stuff the other two piles of sh1te
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

I do blame Hughes, but Harry doesn't walk away blameless!!
Its all good being critical about a squad you inherited, but HR hardly stamped his authority on it!!

After Bosingwa refused to be a sub, he shouldn't have ever played again.

        That wasn't a Hughes mistake!!!

Thought Hoilett would be great for us after his performances for Blackburn and apparent interest from Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle at the time, thought we had a proper talent on our hands. Unfortunately he decided to get fat and hasn't done much on the pitch to impress.

Even Granero, saw some youtube clips of him and he looked quality, thought he musta been since he was playing for Real Madrid, but he's been disappointing, although I think he's been played far too deep, he's an attacking midfielder.

Park has been the biggest disappointment for me, he's been great for United everytime he played so I thought he could do a good job for us but he was another one who failed to impress. However, just like Granero, Park was being played in silly positions, holding mid and on the left when he's a right midfielder. I blame Hughes for that, playing everyone out of position.

Mbia good at the start and then lost form and became the scapegoat of the side. Cesar's been good, not great but I think he's done a good job and got us a lot of points (as well as costing us some).

Hughes tested and tested with different tactics, players, formations, positions every game single game and couldn't find the right formula. Harry's come in and done a decent job getting these lot to play as a team a bit more, but even he hasn't worked out the best XI from this lot.

I blame Hughes for signing these players and then not knowing what to do with them, kept on changing it around every game while we were losing every single game and the players were losing confidence. Harry improved us a bit but it was too late imo, damage was already done to the players mentality thanks to 'Sparky'.

We had a squad of players, that didn't give a f**k what they done.

For me, Hughes is mostly responsible for what happened this season. I remember him saying he liked to have versatile players in his squads which would explain why his QPR one was lop-sided.

We were a centre back short because he decided to buy M'bia who is primarily a defensive midfielder. Our centre back group should've been Hill Nelsen Samba and Onouha. He signed Park and played him in different positions. He went in with just three strikers.

Clint Hill and Harry Redknapp have both been critical of the balance of the squad. To be fair to Harry, he tried to rebalance the squad by buying Samba and Remy. Unfortunately we lost Nelsen towards the end of the season which was a serious blow to us, but I think what's really cost us not having the right midfield mix. Personally, I think our biggest mistake was letting Barton and Faurlin go out on loan. These are two very combative players. I remember Barton saying he never realised how good Faurlin was till he played alongside him. Add to that Derry, Jenas and Diakite and we've got a pretty good midfield in the squad. Our so-called 'creative' players, Taraabt and Hoilett failed to fire and our options only changed when Townsend joined. We bought a thoroughbred striker in Remy and fed him on scraps.

On reflection, we should never have been relegated with the talent we had at our disposal, and for this the blame lies with Hughes in the main but Redknapp must also shoulder some responsibility for the calamity.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

They dont need a manager. The players are professionals earning a bomb and shoulda sorted themselves out on the pitch.
The op is right we should never have gone down.

I got a feeling that there was more than just managerial mistakes with selections and transfers going on....I get the feeling that there are a few players that have come together and clicked but in all the wrong ways i.e Off the pitch and are TOO chummy. I think this group caused a lot of problems within the camp and probably demotivated a lot of them. Who knows but I dont know how 2 managers can get it SO wrong.

Lack of creativity, options up top and p*ss poor shooting/finishing (until Remy signed) is the main reason for our failure.

Defence wasn't great but couldn't have been that bad as we didn't lose by more than 1/2 goals on too many occasions bar the Swansea games.
