Due to the fact that they banned me from the site I cant give my perpsective but none the less some interesting points made and well worth a visit for some some alternative views and debate surronding the club.

Some of the things I have read to me seem a bit unfair whilst others seem to be fairly close to the point.

Let’s be honest Paladini is never going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and I think one fundamental problem with Paladini is that he tries to be all things to all people. Trying to appease people seemingly listen to their view but then do almost the complete opposite. The fact is at QPR the fans are divided, have been for a number of years and this has increased even more so in the last few years. Now don’t get me wrong having people to speak up on issues of concern is great and believe me I’m all for it, but how many supporters groups do we have? LSA, Friends Of QPR , We are QPR, OSC etc. In fighting amongst these groups has been highlighted in Message boards and fanzines over a long period of time so to say Paladini has ‘split the fans’ is a touch unfair as we seem to be doing a pretty good job of it ourselves. Solely responsible – no way, part of the problem – more than likely.

Some have in the past levelled things at Paladini that he lied to the fans etc. Now whilst I would say without doubt that some of the things that have come out of his mouth have been less than honest, to give a balanced view he can’t tell the fans everything. When the rumours were abound about Training Ground being locked, Red letters arriving at the club on a daily basis, some slammed Paladini for not being honest. The point they miss that is in a business (and unfortunately that’s what football now is) you sometimes have to play your Poker face. In no way are you going to openly admit that the club is stuffed as you then have clubs offering tiny amounts for players who are clearly worth a lot more. I agree it’s not the best for us the fans but sometimes that is the way it is, we can’t expect everything to be divulged regarding club finances.

The 3rd thing in defence is saying that he ran the club into the ground. It’s a bit like blaming Alistair Darling for the economy. Yep sure some of the measures he introduced were less than successful but the guys before him had done a hell of a lot more damage, that in all honesty left a lot of the club with problems that we will be paying for a long time. Paladini is a bit of a chancer make no mistake, a Walter Mitty character if you like. The Wright administration and partly Thompson had left the club with massive debt. The dodgy dealings of Wright appointing his own administrators (one of who was later struck off) and therefore getting most if not all his money back. The sale of the training ground to Wright for a lot less than the true market value. Youth players being offered Six figure salaries and then making no more than a handful of 1st team appearances was also a mainstay of the Wright / Davies era. Anybody coming into that mess and without substantial money is going to struggle, I’m sure Paladini would admit some things could have been done better but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

One of the main problems in Football these days is the media age we live in, imagine if you will Jim Gregory’s reign. Now I’m not trying to claim that Paladini has done anywhere near as much as Gregory, but let’s face it Jim had a touch of the Arthur Daley’s about him. Could you imagine his reign in today’s media age? Going through Managers at a fairly alarming rate on occasions, selling big players and then replacing them with not so great one’s, trying to merge us with Fulham and God knows what else. I certainly don’t think he would be held in such high esteem as he still is. The problem with messageboards etc is that if one person posts a ‘well I heard on good authority that....... ‘within 30 minutes it is gospel and then people start arguing with people when it doesn’t happen. Years ago some bloke told it to another in the pub, and in all likelyhood that’s where it stays. No some of these ‘rumours’ are fairly harmless, is Ched Evans still on the bus Pete? There are others which are made up off the back of the 2nd / 3rd hand scenario or for more darker reasons, but they are hard to prove either way but mud does stick
I think Marvin Gaye once said ‘People say believe half of what you see, Son, and none of what you hear’ and I think that’s the point. How many of us really know the true ins and outs of everything or are they going of what they were told, 2nd or 3rd hand?

Has Paladini made mistakes, yes, many. Padula contract, the whole court case thing and many others. All of which could and possibly should have resulted in him being sacked. The problem was that he was the Chairman and wasn’t going to sack himself. Calliendo it seemed had little interest in the running of the club and I think was basically Paladini’s patsy if you like. Since Flavio has come in we have had a few less than great signings Ageymangs 4.5 year deal, well he must have been on crack when signing that one off! He has though (again to restore balance) managed to get in some Good ones, Connolly, Cerny, Buz etc.

I personally don’t think Paladini is some God Like creature as some do, nor do I subscribe to the fact he is Satan himself. The guy came in and whilst he was Chairman we didn’t go into admin, it certainly was a close thing but we didn’t. I would have liked to have seen him thanked for his efforts and moved on. I don’t believe he is the right man for a Director of Football role and really don’t see what he brings to the table in terms of expertise.

I would like to see someone of real calibre come in and do that role, or do away with it and leave to the manager.

Just for the record, Thompson sold a profitable club to Chris Wright.

Only one man to blame here.

It is strange though, since paladini has been involved with the club it has been downhill in many ways, Holloway was doing ok with what he had and was building a good side, then suddenly all these players arrived, remember milanese? evatt? etc..... all by Paladini and ever since then its been the same old story... QPR cannot buy and find it hard to buy a striker yet spend £3.5m on an unknown is very odd like they said, I think until GP leaves we will never have success.

Pete - You have to give up on the selling Blackstock thing as that was GP and FB and our so called best striker cant get in Forest's first team, which speaks volumes.

                        Yes.

And wrongly or rightly as of that he thinks Gianni is Beelzebub, Anubis, Swine Flu, The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, Pikies, Darth Vadar and Frank Lampard rolled into one.
