  • Barton move to Marseille not clear cut as QPR want him back

Joey Barton has revealed his dream of securing a permanent move to Marseilles is under threat because QPR now want him to back to help them in the Championship next season.

Barton today revealed: “I'm in a good position because Marseilles wants me to stay and I would like to stay.

“It would be much simpler if QPR did not want me, which was the case last year, but things have changed a bit there.

“Marseilles for me would be ideal, but who knows what can happen between now and the start of next season.”

"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

We'll have to wait and see. Would be handy in the Championship. Exactly what we need in the midfield.

Yeah but he has stated that he will not play in the Championship and doesn't want to come back to QPR.

I just can't see him in a hoops shirt again.

Yeah he might (jury's out for me, i think hes rubbish) but clearly he doesn't want to be here. He could do a job if he wanted to, but he doesn't. Ive had enough of players who play for us but dont want to and are just going thought the motions.

I actually agree that Barton is a pretty basic player. For him to think he's england level is beyond a joke, because he is miles behind players like Gerrard, Lampard and wiltshire.

The problem is after saying all that...he is still streets ahead of most of our current centre midfielders.
M'bia being my main culprit. I mean the bloke is utter shi te, dreadful touch, clumsy, can't tackle and can't pass yet the bloke still has the audacity to think he's too good for the club. That final sentence pretty much sums up why we need to get rid of this type of malteser head with no brain!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Exactly......it just shows how woeful our current crop have been for people to view Barton as some sort of footballing saviour.....

He could do a job for us, but we've probably got enough dressing room problems without throwing him back into the mix. Unlike some of our players I expect him to put a shift in on the field regardless of what happens, but if he's a disruptive influence off the pitch (and let's not pretend he isn't), is it worth the risk?

                      Exactly.

Now, in the last two weeks we've been announcing to the world that we only want players who want to play for QPR.

Next thing -we are reported as wanting Joey back - who has stated as clearly as one can how he doesn't have any interest in QPR. I mean, he's an enormous pain in the #### and problem causer when he does want to play for a club - imagine what he'll be like if he doesn't even want to be here!!!

Am I really reading this right?

Of course....this could be the club gently reminding the world and the little scouse gob****e........that barton is contracted to QPR.....and QPR will need consulting (paying) before he goes anywhere....

Marseille would like to keep him and for QPR to pick up the tab. That isn't going to happen. Also, although Marseille are keen to keep him the French press are not that keen. His tweets annoy them more than the press here (if that is possible).

                              this.

there is no way on this planet that we should be subsidising a penny of the wages of someone playing in the champions league. can't blame the board for taking a stance on that, that said though, i don't see barton back in hoops anytime soon (and i'm not sad about that)
