Good post Robbo. Reality check is required for a few.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Work out what it costs to run a club a club the size of QPR and then work out what income the club has, even with the inflated ticket prices. The sums do not add up.

We are a small club but want to have the mindset of a Premiership club. THat in itself is not a problem, however, it costs money to get to the Premiership and being a small club we have to pay more per man to achieve the required income.

It is quite clear that even at the sums we are currently paying, that there is a massive shortfall each season. What is also quite clear, is that we are being significantly bankrolled by someone.

I looked at the team sheet last Saturday and for about 90% of the players named I was very excited. The team is young and will gel, hoepfully quickly. When they do, QPR will be a team to be reckoned with.

You have to appreciate that the board are doing all they can without being silly. They are making a massive effort. They will make some mistakes along the way, but our squad is so far ahead of what it was 3 years ago it is laughable.

Stop the moaning and get behind the team and the board.

We have a bright future if you do.
      Thanks for the patronising post

The fact is we are charging a ridiculous amount of money which then made the fans expectations go up which is where the problem lies if we were paying £450 then 1. we would probably get 16-17k gates and 2 people would be happy with the progress the club is making

I am happy with the squad but think we still need a striker and a left back am I now a bad supporter because I have pointed out the obvious ???

I will always get behind the team (when they give 100%) but I will never get behind board because they lie and spin everything

Last 7 days, we've got Simpson and Watson in. Yet, I Still see criticism. We would have been scrapping the barrell 2 years ago for players, yet it won't stop some. I wonder sometimes, if some want us to win, as it seems to give the silent minority great satisfaction when we lose or underperform.

Guarantee, the same record will be played next time we lose.
You really know how to wind others up mate.

Glad you're happy that we can't score more that 1 goal a game. Here's to another mediocre season and more of you putting spin and bulls**t on the wrongdoings of the club. I'm sick of it and getting tired of it now.

That's all very nice and fluffy: Just support everything, they're making mistakes and doing their best.

They probably are... but to expect and demand some kind of utopia, where everyone turns up with their £500/600 season tickets, and expect them all to turn Loftus Road into the footballing equivilent of Woodstock, where peace, love and harmony are gushing out of every square foot is the stuff of fantasy.

You ask for blind faith and loyalty on a weekly basis, engage in multi-page threads on various forums with those that dare to ask questions about transfer policies, managerial appointments/sackings, the impact that the prices charged has on real lives, and basically say the same as Pete has today.... just label anyone who wants the best for QPR, but doesn't accept everything the owners do as being right, or in the best interests of QPR FC as being whingers.

You said it yourself: "Mistakes have been made". But whatever we do, don't mention them, eh?
My verdict on the owners of QPR, as a mere paying punter??.... Thanks, they've done well in certain areas, still glad they came... but far too many severe mistakes when it comes to running a football club. MY football club.

You keep preaching the good word, but at least try to remember that.

This seems to be all you've got left now Pete. Distil everything down to those who tow the party line (the "good guys") and those who have an independent opinion (the "whingers").

For me, it all just validates how short your period as a QPR fan has been. Those who've been around the block and seen this countless times arent actually suckered in by the spin and spiel from HQ. We know whats really going on, and we dont get excited about short term loans from Premiership teams.

Your condescending tone and patronising posts are frankly offensive. Your blinkered view and spoon fed lines are pathetic.

Frankly, I had more fun putting money into the Cureton fund and hoping we managed to sign him from Korea at the last minute. Much more fun and mutually rewarding than whats happened here in the last 24hrs. At least everyone clubbed together and the QPR spirit shone through.
QBP 20th August 2009..."To be fair, I'm glad we are top of the table (for agents fees). Shows we are not a selling club anymore."

Here for me is the main point its not even about the prices for a lot of the people i know its about the way the board have treated the clubs supporters.

People can make jokes about the toilets as pete did in the original post but how are supporters expected to perceive the board when 10k is spent on a light fitting for the high flyers but a basic bit of plumbing to take care of the toilets for the plebs is not sorted out.

it makes supporters feel like the board does not give a **** about them thats how. hardly suprising is it.

We have billionaire backers, we've brought in the most lucrative sponsorship in the club's history, our fans pay the most money to watch their team they've ever done.
Why no Beckford? Why no Hooper? Why? Why? Why? Money is an issue for Scunthorpe, not Queen's Park Rangers.
I've given 100% support to my team for nearly 40 years now, and will continue to do so.
But the board of directors, the wealthiest set of individuals I've ever seen at Loftus Rd, are not beyond criticism.
Their money may buy them most things, except maybe a quality striker, but it doesn't insure them against criticism. Even Caesar had to run the gauntlet of criticism from the citizens of Rome, you know.

Since the takeover I've seen our strike force weaken. We may have just about stabilised it again with the signing of Simpson, but that ain't good enough. We needed better with Dex in the team, but instead we sell him.

                            Again...I'm glad you're happy.
