QPR players will finally greet their long-suffering fans at Anfield later today having disappeared down the tunnel after last week’s damp squib
Rangers lost their final home match 2-1 to Newcastle, and together with a mini pitch invasion, the traditional around-the-pitch thanks to fans at the end of a season never materialised.
But midfielder, Andros Townsend insists it’s the least they can do after loyal fans followed them through thick, and mostly thin since he arrived six months ago on loan from Tottenham.
He said: “The fans definitely deserve some appreciation especially in the six months I’ve been here.
“There have been only one or two wins since then, and yet we’ve booed off just once to show how fantastic they’ve been.
