This season Samba Diakite has played only 14 matches for QPR. The midfield player from Mali has not been able to convince Harry Redknapp of his ability.

During an interview with France Football, the former Nancy player indicated that it was time for him to leave the Hoops, who have already been officially relegated to the Championship (English second division), the issue is “To stay, and perhaps not play, a little
surprising to me that the manager makes this choice. Under these conditions I do not want to stay” he indicated. On the question of where he could restart his career, he suggested that there were a few enquiries. “A few from England, Germany and Turkey. At the moment there is nothing definite. I know that the club will not be against my departure. We will see if a club comes in to transfer him from Loftus Road.

This is basically saying that the club doesn't want him, not that he wants to leave the club.
He hasn't done much at all this season to impress other clubs. Hopefully no one comes in for him and he gets given a chance by Redknapp, would be excellent in the NPC and if we get promoted then he'll be a better player imo.

More likely we'll shift him at a big loss and he'll be worth 20 mil in two seasons' time.

Just another example of how many players we had who didn't want to be here. That was our problem, in a nutshell. NW built a team with spirit to get us promoted and was also the one who started dismantling it the moment we were up.

There is no doubting this lad can play football, is fit, strong and could get better

But then you get performances like Liverpool at home this season where he patently couldn't give a fook

When are we as a club going to start looking deeper into players before signing?
What's their temperament like? Discipline issues, rumours of disruptive ness etc
                  Injury record
                  Family background
Interest outside football and what are their mates like
                  What are their ambitions?
Will they harmonise or disrupt the squad

Little things that someone who knows the game and can read people would assess
That someone doesn't appear to be Phil Beard
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

That is the key mate old fashioned scouting and doing your homework.

I would not blame Beard for that personally he's there to sanction the contract etc getting to know a player in my view is the responsibility of the scouting network.

Very true, unfortunately we've been in too much of a hurry every transfer window since Fernandes arrived. The Diakite signing is a bad one though, we had him on loan for half a season, surely we should have spotted the physcological problems?

For me Diakite will never make a top class central midfielder because his decision making is so poor. The guy throws himself into everything, he's reckless and all in all he's a liability. Perhaps he'll grow out of it but I think more likely he just doesn't have a good enough football brain for that central midfield position. Personally I'd have given him a run on the wing, he's got the pace and a can get past people, he also isn't in the thick of it out there on the wing.

he was great when he first came, if only he was less reckless

harry (& hughes before?) froze him out tho, cant blame him for wanting to leave

you cant tell me he didnt deserve a bigger chance this year, he's very talented

You watch, he'll be off to Galatasaray, Fenerbache, or back to France, he'll make a name for himself and will be back in the Prem in less than 4 years playing for one of the top clubs.

Diakite was a player i thought with good coaching could be a real star in the making problem seems to be that it was only money that persauded him to sign. I guess we got what we paid for and with the club repeating the same mistake over and over again our current situation was always gonna happen
