  • Harry Redknapp: QPR didn't have the quality to stay up

Harry Redknapp believes a lack of quality is to blame for Queens Park Rangers’ relegation.

Rangers have lost 20 games this season and managed just four wins in a miserable League campaign.

a spurs mate said to me harry takes all the credit and none of the blame
he has had 20 games qpprox for qpr and won a just few, performances improved for a while but he had long enough, smashed our transfer record twice, had support etc
he had time to make adjustments but says squad's fault...i am not convinced
he took on a hard job and i feel TF lingered too long over that tw*t hughes, but he has had time and money to have done better.

“People talk about lack of effort, it’s more down to lack of quality,” said Redknapp (above), whose Rangers side face Liverpool on Sunday in their final match of the season.

“In some cases it’s desire but in the main it’s quality. We need changes, for sure. This team weren’t good enough, so we need to make some changes and improve the squad so we’re ready. It’s a big summer for this football club. We know what we need to do. It’s going to be tough for all the teams next year.

“We need players with the right attitude and quality to get us out of the Championship. I’m confident we can give it a real go but it’s a league full of top clubs.

“It’s a tough league to get out of. There are no easy games in the Championship — Saturday, midweek, Saturday, midweek. We need players who can play week in week out.

“The hard work really starts this summer. We will try to clear the decks and get some fresh blood in as well so we can compete at the top.”

      ---

I think he got it spot on tbh. Some of them were not at it 100% imo but the main point was that too many players were just not up to it and need replacing in the summer or face a struggle in the championship.

Harry Redknapp's full of bull $hit. Tell me how many times you saw at the start of the season people saying what a squad of talent QPR has got. It's down to non committed players, the whole of football can see it

This manager is taking QPR for total mugs. We need QPR people right now in charge like Neil Warnock, Ian Holloway, Kenny Jacket, Gareth Ainsworth, not a manager who passes the buck. Harry Redknapp hasn't once stood up & said he could of done more, motivation for a start & if you can't motivate them (Bosingwa, you, don't play them)

My frustration has hit a new level now after his press conference this morning. We had a bs manager in Mark Hughes! We're getting another one in Redknapp.

        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

Actually he did say once 'Ive given it my all but it obviously isnt enough'....in some post match interview i think it was.

IMO,He should have given Park and Jay Bootroyd a few more chances to play when they both hit some kind of form. For unknwn reasons, they were both taken out of the team when they actually started to perform.
On the expense of Hill, he should also have given Boswingwa a chance as a cb, he played some matches for Chelsea in that position. Who knows, but he should at least have tested it.
But, of course it is a fact that he inherited a team which was to mentally fragile to play catch-up every week. Samba was also in very bad shape when he was brought in as the saviour.
Anyway, you`ll never know, if we had managed to get Odemwhingie and Crouch we might have made it...

No but you're saying QPR people, yet Warnock who as as far from being QPR as you could possibly get has been our most successful manager since Terry Venables.
Doesn't matter who or what the manager's past is...it's what he does at QPR. Tbh i think Warnock did so well with us because we were so sh*t & in the sh*t when he arrived that most fans
could see what an improvement on Hart/Harford he was that he got a break.

Harry Redknapp will be 67 years old in march. If he should have had a normal job he would`ve retired. He is old and tired.

....he also had an operation to unblock coronary arteries 2011 so his cognition is probably not that good and, because of bad arteries, he might be on his way of catching dementia.....
