And who put his complete and long-term faith and trust in them?

How incredibly naive and foolish a move that was.

How incredibly naive and foolish it was to NOT recruit a 'football experienced' CEO.

50 million spunked £'s later the club is now paying that price for these incredibly naive and foolish errors.

As ever the buck always stops with the owners.

The road to hell, I agree, is paved with good intentions. I don't think you and I disagree; we just use different judgemental language. My point is to acquit TF of venality and bad faith.... And to suggest that he's learnt a hard lesson. Beard is charged with running the club- and moving the infrastructure forward. Rigg was meant to be the footballing CEO.....

Fair point. If, and it is a big if, the right lessons have been learned then some sort of recovery is possible from the current mess. For example January was miles better compared to last summer so hopefully that is a sign of improvements.

The thing I wonder is who TF talks to about football? I hope it is Harry but sometimes he says stuff that makes me wonder.

I do find it hilarious all the fans who call Ferndandes etc idiots and so on. If it weren't too cruel it would be interesting to make a comparison of the educational achievements, career records, financial success, etc etc of the owners against those of the oh-so critical fans. Maybe some of those critical fans should write a book on "How to Run a Football Club" or "How To Make Your First Hundred Million". They all seem to know so much about it...
That is a top post Stainrod.....! It wouldn't be cruel at all, it would be hilarious...most of the detractors are all mouth and no substance. Would love to read their books as well....would be a real eye opener!!!!

Let's be straight here Fernandes is not the football man, he paid so-called professionals like Hughes and Rigg to do it. He's not experienced or qualified to assess the suitability of players. That was down to Hughes and Rigg. They didn't do their jobs so Fernandes sacked them. Unfortunately we were left with some rubbish players.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Mate, you have to realise, Rigg was only an employee, he wasn't on the board. And he, Kia and Hughes were all in bed with each other and not QPR FC. So ultimately they were never going to have the club's greatest interests at heart. Fernandes naivety and foolishness in not seeing that was his biggest mistake. All he saw and knew about was Hughes' CV, not all the shady Joorabchian baggage that came with him. He was far too easily seduced by them and all their smooth talk. And he had nobody looking out for his own and the club's interests because Beard is completely unqualified in that department, not having the necessary footballing background.

spot on and I can understand v blocks frustrations but he's just guilty of backing 2 very poor managers and not sacking the current one!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

As things stand Beard is still in place. Fair enough, but he is not a 'football man'. Hughes is still being paid off monthly. And Tony has now transferred his faith into Harry and his team, who I personally think will be a big improvement on Hughes' team because they're not tied down to one particular and somewhat 'shady' agent, who's looking out for their own interests first, including player transfers. I personally trust the likes of Broomfield and co far more, and I imagine TF probably now sees this too. So in that regard at least we can say that these expensive lessons now appear to have been learnt and we can look forward to a hopefully brighter future.

                            The biggest con of all.

*(Allegedly) Made the likes of Bothroyd, Campbell and Barton train at 4pm after the rest of the 1st team had gone home.
*Boasted of having developed a database of players that rated everything from skill, to mental health (Diakite?!), to outside activities....... although it seems most of these were represented by Kia Joorabchian.
                            *And on.....

Although hats of for conning a guy who runs one of the most successful airlines in the world - and also the 3rd,4th,5th or whatever richest man in the world.

I'd like to see him put in a room with that big bloke who was kicking off in the Springbok before the Sunderland game......
