Sumply unbelievable how some do not want to be united in their support for the club and would always prefer to #### it off instead. :(
Isleworth, it's not a case of believing their chairman over Gianni, I just quoted what was said by him and would welcome Gianni's version of events.

What do I care whether Scunny's chairman is telling the truth or not, I want to know whether our sporting director told the truth or lied yesterday!

The day we go down the banning route like another site did with a mad purge of posters who disagreed with them would spell the end of this site.
trouble is mate the spin doctors don't like people not agreeing with them......

Has he lied and if so what about?

He enquired about the player which has been established as fact and confirmed by the Scunthorpe Chairman but the media were the ones who quoted the proposed offer price.

        QPR fail with Hooper bid
Cash-rich side fail to land Scunthorpe striker

Queens Park Rangers sporting director Gianni Paladini has revealed the club had a bid for Gary Hooper rejected by Scunthorpe United.

Hooper has been linked with a summer move away from Glanford Park after netting 30 goals for the Iron last season.

It is claimed QPR offered around £1million for the striker but Scunthorpe rejected the approach from their Championship rivals.

Paladini said: "We made a bid for Hooper but it was rejected. We were told that he is not for sale."

Scunthorpe signed Hooper, 21, from Southend United for £175,000 in July last year.

            The BBC quoted;

"1344: According to Gianni Paladini, the QPR sporting director, the Hoops had a bid for Gary Hooper at Scunthorpe turned down by the struggling Championship side."

Doesnt necessarily say when but certainly indicates a bid was made. Scott and Pete suddenly got a bit excited yesterday as though they had been told a bid had just gone in.

              Fair enough

I think we would all like some clarification on the matter but its a shame some are so quick to find QPR as a whole (including Paladini) guilty until proven innocent.

Are we the only club where fans would prefer to believe the worse rather then wait until the facts come out and again I refer to the Training Ground and flats on Loftus Rd etc.

You are right, many are too quick to think the worse, however the club are partly to blame in this due to spin/misdirection/lack of info etc etc in the past !

IsleworthRanger - The £1,000,000 figure is irrelevant.

Paladini said we made an offer and was told he was not for sale and the Scunthorpe Chairman said he asked if he was for sale, which is not the same thing. Paladini through his own stupidity has boxed himself into a corner and I bet he comes out with some crap to try and save face.

We now have quotes from GP saying a bid was made and rejected whilst the Scunny chairman said an enquiry was made but no bid made. Something obviously doesn't add up.

All it needs now, is GP to clarify if an actual bid was made.

I'm gutted we didn't get him. But if we did make a bid I cannot think for the life of me why it was made so late in the transfer window and not earlier in the summer!

I will be very peeved if he goes on to have a good season!

Perhaps the Scunthorpe manager was trying to appease his own fans?

Further, PETE CAME ON HERE AND SAID: 'We have upped the bid'.

Now either he made this up or he was being lied to aswell. Only two options.
