  • Sponsors Evening tonight interesting...............

First all of all it was far more organised than previous seasons. The players were all on time and wearing club suits. Sense of discipline. Not had this before.

All the players went up with their sponsor. No one sponsored Bosingwa!

There was then a Q and A session with Jenas, Hill, Green and Redknapp.

Players spoke well and all sounded if they will be here next season. Redknapp sounded positive for next season. He clearly knows who he wants for next season. He has already been scouting players for next season. No names.

We will be going to Devon for pre season for a few days with say one game and then away to somewhere like Austria for a week or so.

The players could sit where they want but it was noticeable there were at least 3 distinct groups:

    1. Mackie, Hill, Derry, Murphy, Green etc

    2. Jenas, SWP, Bothroyd, Onuhua, Hoilett etc.

    3. Remy, Diakite, Samba, M'Bia etc.

You can tell why there are divides in our squad. Not much 'banter' going on between players which has been very noticeable at events like these over the years.

The players then mingled for about 15 mins before they shot off. Tarabat definitely sounds like he wants to leave. He wants a new challenge. Chris Samba I highly doubt will be here next season also. Remy spoke very well. His English is better than I thought. Came across as a very nice bloke. Can't see him staying though. Caesar didn't look too interested and I imagine will be off. Onuhua spoke very well and he sounded very positive for next season.

Overall, if a player does not want to be with us then as far as I am concerned can go. We need players who want to play for us. Can't think of anything else from the season.

Oh yes, the stadium! Beard spoke briefly. Same as we were. It is progressing and we will be staying in the local area. Focus is now on the training ground.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

        .
Thank you for reporting back to us. First of all discipline is very small but means a hell of a lot in football. Harry spoke about how discipline was going to be installed & I'm very happy to hear that

Second very good news Green is in that group of players, he's a good apple we're lucky to have at QPR
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Cheers Hammersmith. Were there any no shows???

Did you get the feeling of any remorse or shame from the players for this seasons efforts??

I think Nedum will be the surprise of next season if he gets games.

Agree with Felt, & in this case, with Derry, Mackie, & Hill (along with Adel - not sure where he was) being the players at QPR the longest is there a case where these players could be to blame for our newer ones not settling.

How welcome were our new players made to feel when they joined? Does the singing still go on?
I know when new people join my place of work we always makw them welcome, go out for a few drinks etc.. I feel that being welcomed somewhere new is just as important as adapting to a new way of life for others.

Just interested in peoples views on this.
