We havent been run as a football club. We have been run as a business by a businessman who knows nothing about football. Its all about profile, prestige, marketing and PR with Tony and it was always going to end up one way.
I thought it was common knowledge that Hughes realised during pre season after one of Greens many flaps that he never fancied Green and he went looking for another keeper, reinforced by his efforts against Swansea. In hindsight Tony should have said jog on you have made your bed now lie in it but as we know he wants to give his mangers everything.

That the Pre-Season we was over in Asia marketing Tony's Airline when we should have been preparing ourselves against better opposition ? wonder who's idea that was. Another mistake.

He wanted "names" at the club to raise the profile and lured them by paying ridiculous wages that they couldnt say no to. They would never have come to the club otherwise. Ultimately it was paying stupidly high wages that then split the dressing room and created the divide that partly caused our relegation. He appointed a know nothing about football CEO in Phil Beard because of his "experience with the O2 Arena" and this numpty has been negotiating with the players and agents. Mistake after mistake which had led to probably our most embarrassing season ever where we have broken embarrassing prem records and have a team of useless lazy twunts. His constant PR tweets dont help matters ...but as long as he gives away a few season tickets then some fans think he's "Uncle Tony".
Well good argument vblock, and if those points are right then i can see why you are angry i must admit. I'm not sure you are correct but if all those events have taken place then i would agree with you.
I can't see why Mark Hughes would let him do this, as he is the one paying with his reputation. I do think he has raised the profile of the club, but not sure signing Mbia, Diakite or Granero would do that
i had not heard of Granero before we were linked with him, maybe just me.
I just think Harry wouldn't be slamming the quality, or the unbalanced nature of the squad if Hughes wasn't to blame, managers stick together and talk and he would know if what you say is true
he would leave it...or TF would tell him to leave it in case Hughes broke his silence and told everyone what you think maybe the truth....just my view.

Wont dispute that VBlock but we were not the first and will not be the last to go to Asia on a pre season tour even championship teams go to Asia and the US nowadays. Suppose the key is ensuring the opposition if you do tour is that which gives you a proper work out

I'm getting fed up of all this Fernandes bashing. He's got the club's best interests at heart I'm sure.

As for the new stadium, it needs to be multi-purpose to be viable. It'll be empty for around 340 days a year otherwise. Phil Beard has said it's not a viable proposition if it's not multi-purpose and he's right.

Our 2011 -12 Pre Season fixtures..

                Harrow Borough
                Tavistock
                Plymouth Argyle
                Bodmin Town
                Cesena
                Crawley Town
                Luton Town
                Braga
                Atalanta

                Our 2012 - 13 Pre Season

                Sabah Select X
                Kelantan
                Persebaya Surabaya
                Wycombe Wanderers
                Trabzonspor
                FC Augsburg

Still think the pre season was wasted with an Asian Tour and a plane unveiling.

Well I am sure and it seems obvious you're not.

                    Opinions. To each their own...

tbf i am a cynical ******* and am hoping Fernandes proves me wrong and has the clubs best intentions at heart :-) Tony just reminds me of a politician, all PR and smiles but ultimately only in it for himself and ripping your heart out without you even noticing.

I think opinions about TF will change once the building of the new training ground begins and the announcement is made about the new stadium. People will see that he's in for the long haul and wants to develop our football club.

It's hardly his fault that two highly respected football managers and a bunch of misfiring footballers have let him and us down. He did the right thing by letting the football guys deal with the football side of the business while he focused on infrastructure and the commercial side. Commercialism is a fact of life for football clubs these days and we have to embrace it or die.

He has learned some harsh and expensive lessons in the short time he's been with us but I'm convinced he'll get it right in the long term.
