Found this on LFW....so credit superhooper83, seems a different attitude coming from JB?

    Followed by

    Finally
    @Joey7Barton: Bring it on..

    Coming back afterall?

Yeah saw that, quite interesting. Scott Parker is ten times the player Barton is, and IMO has the same leadership skills, but it's very unlikely we'll sign him. I'd settle for Barton in the championship though.

Reckon Barton's been told "look Joey, you might actually have to go back to QPR, Marseille can't afford ya..." and he's realised he needs to backtrack abit.

Never been so torn on a player in my life. When he left (even after the City incident) I was very pro-Barton. However, seeing some of the $hit he has come out with slating our club on Twitter has wound me right up and, tbh, I think he's a prize pr1ck. Giving it large about "QPR might be playing in the championship next season, but I certainly wont be".

Would obviously sooner Parker than him, but as Ginger says, Parker is highly unlikely I reckon. Ability wise, Joey would be blinding in the Championship though. Would I want him back playing for us next season? Probably, yes. Despite him being a w-anchor. Having a team full of nice guys doesn't win you the league. Only worry I'd have is whether or not he would cause yet more unrest in the squad?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

It's a tough one, as he's not a bad player but the baggage he brings with him is an absolute nightmare. The man is a prize plum, no doubt, and I'm sure the board would love to be rid of him. But if you can't get rid of him and he's not going to sulk about it and be a disruptive influence in the dressing room (fat chance on that one methinks), you might as well play him.

Better if you can get him p*ssing out of the tent, rather than in and he'll be an asset!

True Dave, my worry is that Joey's aim is rather erratic!

He doesn't rate QPR, he admitted he only came here for the money, he doesn't respect the club or the players, how on earth is that other than going backwards? You cannot build team spirit around someone like that. I'm sorry, I can't see that working at all.

I wouldnt say Parker's ten times the player Barton is by any stretch of the imagination. Add to that the fact Parker's far more injury prone and he becomes more of a risk and liability.

Barton no matter his faults, cannot be questioned when it comes to will to win and workrate on the pitch. He has also had a winning campaign in the Championship and knows what it's all about. Add to that the lacklustre performances from the team this season without him... were we really better off sending him abroad???? If he was that rubbish he wouldn't have been in Marseille's starting team week in week out.

His Free kicks are also better than anyone at the club, as proved this season with the endless wasted corners and FK's around the box.

I think TF and co need to get him in a meeting, draw a line in the sand, move forward and get him back into the club to do a job next season. Faurlin, Barton and Diakite in midfield 3 would dominate most games.

i believe that even if he's have to come back against his will,he's still gives 100% if he's playing for us again. He hates losing. He's not Bosingwa after all

Joey plays for Joey , but he could be an effective mercenary for us. We're paying him already. Harry, I assume, might be able to get something out of him. A fresh start all round.

Exactly right. Said the same thing the other day in a thread. Once he's on the pitch he just wants to win his battle with a direct opponent, and the team win the game. I think he and Derry are the only ones with that sort of mentality.

Yep. Spot on. He played a key part in those five home wins which kept us up last year. Under Hughes. And in a weaker technical team than this year's.
