A guy who starts most games for a team 4th in the Premiership ahead of Dembele is not good enough for a team about to grace the championship? Some of you need to lower your expectations a little. Just cause Rooney wants to leave Man Utd it does not mean he wants to come to QPR. Parker is a big name yes but he would be being signed to do the ugly stuff week in week out (which he does very very well in the Premiership ) and get others to follow his example which they will. That is a priceless commodity in the Championship when you have ability.

I see the points about age etc but a) He is miles better than anything we have in centre midfield and are likely to get
      b) In the Championship before your quality/flair players can shine you need people who will bust a gut on a Tuesday night at Donacaster. Parker is easily one of those players.

No more big name players. We tried it and we failed.

Buy Livermore and Townsend instead, younger and with the option of selling them for money if need be.

I dont think he has started most games this season, but anyway, you say about lowering expectations, yet in the same vein are talking as if he'd even come to QPR in the championship..... It aint gonna happen anyway regardless if we think he's worth it or not.

As for me, i'm not saying he's not good enough, just we dont need him and he'd be a waste of money for an over 30 past his best injury prone player when we have decent players in that position for the championship.

He has played a fair few games. Regardless of whether he is starting or not for a team 4th in the Premier League. By that alone he would walk into our first team.

If he is good enough then we do need him. As i said previously he is miles better than anything we have. You say we have decent players in that position for the Championship...? Who?

Whatever player you name, Parker is better than by a long way. I agree he is over 30 and past his best but he would still be miles better than we have so cannot see how people would say no to a player that would improve our side.

I'm not saying he wouldn't necessarilly be better than what we have, but the fact is we have players in those areas who are more than good enough for the championship. As per my post above, Faurlin plays that role very well, and offers more in attack than Parker as better with the ball. WE also have Derry who could be back up, plus what will happen with Diakite?

The point was regardless if he;'s better than what we have, for the money to sign him and the inflated wages it isnt worth it, especially when he'll spend half the seaon injured. If we're to spend silly money again there are other more pressing concerns than defensive midfield.

Can't see him coming to us when any of the 3 promoted clubs plus a few more established PL clubs would snap his hand off.

Exactly. There might well be an argument about old versus younger players but to somehow make out that he isn't good enough for QPR is so laughable I almost fell off my seat. From Champions League to Championship - you're having a laugh. Half the clubs in the Prem wd be after him but apparently he isn't good enough for the mighty QPR. Also just because we bought the wrong players before doesn't mean we shouldn't look at older players again. Tony Currie, Sammy Lee, Peter Reid, Ray Wilkins were all hardly in the first flush when they came to QPR but were brilliant for us. We probably will sign some young up and coming players but considering the likes of Park, Bossingwa, Granero, Cisse, Johnson, SWP Ceasar etc etc will all probably leave we cd very quickly look inexperienced. What we need is leaders (of any age) and Parker would be that. Not that I think there is a cat in hell's chance of him agreeing to come to us...

Parker wouldn't be a bad one. Known as a great pro. It's about getting the right mix both on and off the pitch. If he came to us the fee would be minimal.

M'Bia, Bosingwa, Park, Granero - None of them were mercernaries before they signed for us. We create the 'mercenaries' when we pay players too much just to come and play for us.

Good point...we lured them with high wages as that was the only thing to interest them in us. TF wanted names to raise the profile and paid through the nose to get them. Unfortunately that is the complete wrong way to go about building a team as luring them with big wages just upset the rest of the dressing room and caused a divide. On top of that we ended up with highly paid players that cared nothing for the club only for their pay packets.
