  • The team that would not get out of the bottom half of the Championship

    Harry Redknapp:
We are short of quality - with the players we have now we would not get out of the bottom half of the championship.
This makes me so angry - how can our manager say something like this - what is his tought behind thi - if any
I will name a team of current players on our books most of them playing the last game
    Cesar - Fabio - Onuoha - Samba - Traoere - Townsend - Jenas - Faurlin - Hoilett - Taarabt - Remy
    Subs: green - SWP - Park - Cisse - Granero - Mackie - Hill
I would say if this team would be in the lower half there is something very wrong with the manager.
I am sure that most if not all the managers of that division would love to have those players.

HR starting to lose a lot of support.

Needs to really put his mark on the team over the summer and prove a lot of people wrong.

Harry is dead right..we would be mid table in the Chumpionship with our current team. You do realise we are total sh1t dont you? Bottom of the league, cant score goals, cant defend and with only 4 wins all season! This bunch of losers we have playing for us at the moment would get beaten by at least half the teams in the Chumpionship. Watford, Palace, Brighton, Leicester , Cardiff, Hull etc would give us a tonking.

Harry always plays down situations, don't you know that yet?

4 out of 7 are his players costing at least 20mill

If success was decided by reputations of individual players we would be mid-table Premiership. If success is decided by how you play as a team we probably are bottom half Championship. The question is how the manager is going to make them work as a team, or if he is going for another massive clear-out, how he will get the new set of players working for each other. His honeymoon period is well and truly over and he needs to hit the ground running next season. Saying we lack "quality" is nonsense. We might lack team unity, fight, leadership, whatever but as the OP showed many Prem teams let alone Champ teams wd love the "quality" that we currently have. Its like Roy Keane after the Cup Final blaming Man City's poor performance on lack of investment. You couldn't make it up. Some of these football managers and pundits really need to engage their brains before opening their mouths. A lack of quality has not been our problem for well over a year now - our problem has been utilising that quality. We just have an amazing ability to turn good players into bad ones. I bet several of those we can't keep will go on to look really good elsewhere. Look at Ben Watson - looked totally disinterested in his last few games for us, yet charged in at the weekend to become the biggest hero in Wigan's history.

Dont believe Samba is his as i reckon that was Fernandes idea after we didnt get him last transfer window (Samba is useless though and we overpaid by at least £7 million but whats new?) . Remy, Jenas and Townsend were Harry's i reckon where Remy and Townsend have been our best players all season even though they only played in part of it. Jenas i am not a fan tbf though.

How many of our "full of ability" players would get into the starting 11 of a prem team not currently in the bottom 3? not many i reckon. Traore and Boswinga are the 2 worst full backs in the prem and thats just an example.

As mentioned above and on another thread HR is right, some of the players here have shown contempt for the club, owners, fans and other professional footballers at the club. This is pure poison and effects the core root of a team and unless it can be sorted these issues will not go away and will only grow like at Wolves.

This current squad may look good but wouldn't beat 70% of the championship teams, as reputation wins nothing, heart, effort, skill and passion do, having 1 out of thoses 4 are BAD.
One for all.... and all for one

This is why I am so fearful about our future. We seem to have a poisonous situation at the club and nobody knows how to apply the antidote. Throwing more and more money at it hasn't worked, change of management hasn't worked, what is there to do? We can't get rid of every player, and yet we need to make wholesale changes; new players need time to gel etc. does Tony know what he wants and how to get it? I'm not sure he does, and until he imposes his will on the situation we will not climb out of this cess put.

You are really loosing faith in HR. Since end of november he is not been able to put his mark on this bunch. Most managers would have. Who is picking Bozingwa and Traore week in week out yes it is HR. HR said TF asked him which players he would like in the transfer window and answer was Samba - that is what he got.
I personally is happy that we will keep the manager - he should be able to manage the team up again. I also believe some of those players will become heroes next season. We have some very good examples like HH who not this board favored at some time.
                      Looking forward to nex season

who do you think will become heroes from this sorry lot we have at the moment? lol good luck with that. I disagree that "most managers" would have done better than HR...We are not bottom of the legue for nothing..these players are lazy usless losers and Jesus H Christ would only have got a couple of more draws out of them

From what I saw on Saturday, surviving relegation will be an achievement next season.

                            Question of reserve players

Harry is playing the same **** week in week out....does he really expect an different outcome? Why does he not put in one or two of the youngsters? Is it because they are not in the 25 man squad? Players like harriman, ehmer will at least try........not as if we have anyting to lose it it???

Cesar - Had a good january but the rest of the 2nd half of the season has been pretty rubbish. Also injury has stopped him being what he was in january

Onouha - Spent a big portion of the season in a bad place cos of his mother

Samba - Was thrown in the deep end in january 40% fit, not his fault he came with a big price tag.

Traore - Not up to scratch for a team that needed to be playing like a top 3 team

Faurlin - Since injury has not been good enough for the prem.

Hoilett - Was injured and not fit enough for most of the season

Taarabt - Not good enough, too much of a maverick when a team needs to play as a team.

Remy - Might have helped if he had come in at the start of the season but also didnt have the service. Will score sacks more in a decent team.

SWP - Injured & rusty not good enough.

                              Park - Knackered has been.

Cisse - didnt care enough and same problem as remy - not enough service.

Granero - not suited to english football AT ALL

                              Mackie - headless chicken.

Hill - Not a prem defender. Great for us in the npc maybe for 1 more season.

This team we have is made up of misfits, mercenaries and has beens...flogging a dead horse - No manager would have got this lot out of the situation its in.
