  • Some key points from the post-match press conference

    - On Bosingwa "He cost us a couple of goals"
    - When asked if he'd been unfairly scapegoated, Harry danced around it saying "People pay their money"
    - What can you do with Bosingwa, he's got two years left? "Something's got to be done."
    - "That team today wouldn't finish in the top half of the Championship"
    - When asked if players could be sent out on loan, "Where they gonna go on loan? So you loan a player on 70,000 a week out to a club that wants to pay him 7000, and it costs you 63,000. Sounds a very good idea."

we are on the verge of another few years of misery and disenchantment. Itws going to take a good 2 seasons to sort this mess out.

Just watched the press conference, not really sure what Harry reckons he's gonna acheive by telling the press we're not good enough to finish top half of the Championship!

completely agree. sometimes he talks like he wants to give the press controversial sound bites.

that team today was the same as the one that wenger said would come straight back up last week. With one monobrowed exception. It defies all logic why he played boswinga and mbia.

                makes no sense whatsoever

getting in his excuses early, beginning to p me off big time, after what we have been through just don't need all this pessimism:strive:
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

I'm just hoping we don't end up like City. Signed Wayne Bridge on 90k a week (Mark Hughes everyone!) and he's still on their books despite not making the first team on a regular basis in what, three years?

Harry loves an excuse to be fair.

Whatever happened to Harry Redknapp the amazing motivator?

As much as I like Arry and am glad he is (apparently) staying, he ain't half a master of distributing blame elsewhere. The bloke has been in charge since November (I think anyway?) so he has to take a fair bit of blame himself for this relegation. Can't chuck it all at Hughes.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Last two seasons we've had our expectations (vastly) unrealistically raised. A touch of reality will do us no harm.

Hell of a tough job coming in mid-season though. I think the results of the last few weeks should be ruled out. Villa crushed us, Wigan ended us. The problems we have are the result of too much managerial chopping and changing and a lack of foresight where the transfer policy is concerned, both of which go back at least as far as the Briatore takeover. This season has really been about all our chickens coming home to roost. The other problem is that the club was ill-equipped for the Premier League both on and off the pitch. Things like the new training ground are a step in the right direction, but those kind of improvements take time. I'm not saying Harry doesn't deserve his share of the blame, but I can't think of how anyone could have done a whole lot better. We stayed up last season mainly through a stroke of luck, this season our luck ran out.
