    Cards on the table - Pete and co

    Pete, this time yesterday you said three players coming in

    Prem LB, Mid & Striker..... 1 loan and 2 perms....

    I think it was in that combination...

    So you can now tell us who you were expecting, if loans or perms and the reason why things changed....

    I want to know not because you were wrong :waaaht:, just interested to know who the board and JM were going for and to understand in more depth the goings on within the club on "D day"

    I said we were trying, sorry but big difference to getting.

    Many deals in the last 48 hours for various clubs may not have neccesarily gone through. Process of loans and buys are very difficult.

        Scotty has a fair point.
        You can name names.
        I do remember you saying that you would tell us who the players were if they didn't go through.
        I played sunday league football today.

        Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

        I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

        We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

          Folan and Hooper.

          Bale was a definite enquiry too.

          Scunthorpe United turned down two offers more recently. This weekend was the main one

          We did enquire in the summer.

          Benjani not going to Hull City, put pay to Folan

              scunthorpe was worried they couldnt replace hooper in the short space of time.

                I would imagine it very unlikely if they are going to sell they will want the money so that they can replace him! That's going to be impossible now before January so we won't get him until at least then...

                  As reported on the beep - a fairly uneventful transfer deadline day.

                  I would imagine that many names are banded about by agents.I would also imagine that the Watson loan took up a lot of time.

                  The Hooper enquirey was interesting, but as a previous poster has mentioned - if Scunny cant replace, why sell....They are not a very good team and they will need Hooper.

                    Thanks Pete, would have been great if we had got Bale, Folan and/or hooper The fact we were after these players clearly shows intent from the club.

                    I still think HH may turn into a goal scoring machine, he gets the chances so just maybe he could turn things around. Sods law we sell him and then he hits top form!!!

                          But why a short space of time? Have we not had long enough knowing we needed a striker and therefore long enough to bid or were we doing the ebay thing and trying to do it last minute . com? Do we not have a replacement for them we could have added to the deal or do Scunny think our strikers that bad?

                            not sorry we didnt get folan, what happened to Stead it we reported that we were after him, almost a done deal at one point if memory serves?

                              Do you really believe Pete has any idea as to what is happening? He gets thrown a bone by his mate and the rest is a cacophony of lies to entice debate, whip-up excitement and to make the pile of s... that is our board smell of roses!
