I thought we had links in the Middle East (through Gulf Air/Bahrain sponsorship), India (Mittals), Far East (that Japanese woman), Italy (various), Spain (Real Madrid and others) etc.

Have we burned all our bridges? Are these connections still in place? Who is in charge of managing these connections?

It would have increased our profile in much of our local area too, but there you go.

Well Junichi Inamoto when at Fulham had all their games televised in Japan, extra 2000 in the crowd. That one player must have made Fulham quite a bit of money no doubt.

maybe your right in terms of tax he would have paid. but i still don't see how abiding by the rules is racist.

not everyone wants to live over here.

those that do however, should be contributing to the country, not taking. this guy had something to offer and a company willing to employ and sponsor his stay and that should be encouraged regardless of his ethnicity.

i believe football has done more for race relations in this country than many other attempts to bring people together and this whole episode stinks of the hypocritical football authorities saying one thing and doing the other.
