Mackie got relegated with Plymouth the year before we signed him and Derry / Hill almost got relegated with Palarse did. You can be a good player in a poor team, In Bristol / Posh's case they have had a great goalscoring record but has awful defences which cost them. And most other seasons they wouldn't of gone down.
Exactly this...! Remember the whining that went on about Mackie being signed from a relegated club....he did ok.
Nothing wrong with signing the better players from a relegated side...
Will potential suitors of Remy be put off that he got relegated with QPR? Don't think so!!

Well i'm doing my best writing to all prem clubs telling them how c**p he is!!!!
O Hara's ridiculously overated on the back of a couple of decent performances i think when on loan from Spurs. They then blew £7m on him and he's been pony ever since, that is when he's been fit.
buying young players who are hungry is vital but only if tf and the board are willing to stick with us if we don't come up straight off. we need an injection of new blood but i would be wary of the all out easy option of cheap players from relegated teams on long term contracts. just hoping tony and co have learnt from our previous cast-off buys. rome was'nt built in a day and from next season we are starting from scratch and have no right to be table toppers from the off.
