Trouble is Harry will get in who he wants to get in, and both we, and Tony Fernandes, will have to trust in his judgement.
I remember being incredulous at some of the signings Neil Warnock made the pre-season before we won the championship, and look what happened.

This is a tricky one. QPR should be avoiding players like this. Trouble... However you can't say he doesn't want to play for QPR & Harry wants him.

IMO we should offer low wages. Take it or leave it & see where his head really is with QPR
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Don't think that's going to be the problem, it's WBA. When does his contract end?

I think a few have forgotten Adel aside our promotion in the main was based on four experienced (older) players three bought in by Warnock in Derry, Hill, Kenny and Heider who was already here. What do those four have in common although there of should we say a vintage pedigree they all have the right attitude and characters

Another example of this would be Furlong, we signed him in the twilight of his career but regardless of the stick he took early doors from the fans his character and experience saw him through the rough spell and without his goals and contribution would we have come up from Div 1?? I would suggest not

As I said in a thread the other day we need to get back to basics and start doing our homework on players and scouting properly so we not only know what we getting in terms of ability as player but also what characters we are recruiting. Dare I say it would not have taken much effort to identify what baggage Bosingwa/Barton would bring with them off the pitch!!! ten its a question of adding up does the baggage outweigh what they bring to the pitch
Well, like I say we have 4 30+ players, 5 if you count Hulse who I forgot. Why then do we need to bring in Odemwingie? Betty and DJ are proven at Championship level.

You say people are obsessed with younger players. I counter that people are obsessed with new signings. Got a problem, sign another player. Getting back to basics, well why can't we get the best out of what we have? Just because someone is new to us, doesn't necessarily make them any better. Just as younger isn't necessarily better than older, or vice versa.

Bang on low to reasonable wage with incentives built in for goals and league finish make them earn there money. Low finish equals low wage simple

I would take him like a shot. Quality player just badly advised. Players drive up and down the country all night on deadline day, just he decided to park outside LR with Sky cameras :/

Think other clubs may come in for him though, def not staying at WBA.

Don't think Harry likes DJ or Betty. Why was Betty not getting a game when he is on form and scoring goals for us?

If we're going for the over 30's strikers - I'd rather Norwich got relegated and we somehow got hold of Grant Holt TBH.......

Could be a disastrous signing if he plays football like he drives, .....be constantly offside!!!

This is interesting debate mate. Let me throw it back at you what percentage of young to old players is reasonable in your view.

I hear what your saying about having 5 30+ year old strikers on the books but Im not convinced even if there on the books in August they will be in the 25man squad and it would not surprise me to see DJ loaned out as he was this season I he remains. Hulse if out of contract, and I think Bobby and Johnson if they remain fit will do a decent job. Will Betty remain im not so sure although I think there is a god player in him.

And great point about getting the best out of players why is it when a good players comes t Rangers he becomes a bad player over night???? is happened way to often for it to be a coincidence

I really hope no one uses that as a sign of how badly he wanted to play for us.

More to do with how much money he could earn (no doubt word got to him via one of the current lot) a week with us imo.

If he joins us in the Champ, he will not get offered the money he was going to... we'll see what happens here, will deffo be interesting for sure.

I thought he really wanted to play under Harry more than the money.
