QPR boss Harry Redknapp has dismissed claims that his side lacked ambition during their ill-fated relegation battle, insisting they were simply not good enough.
Nope squad is dripping with quality. When u look at shi.t teams like foolham playing Sidwell n chris Baird in midfield and sitting mid table it proves our lot talent wise should be top half of prem at the very least. Our problem is the players all hate each other and don't want to play for each other. That's why we went down with a whimper.
I agree with the badly balanced statement, right from the get go it was obvious we lacked depth and quality up front and at CB yet we had many midfielders! As for quality of the players, tables don't lie!
A badly balanced squad is correct -
They started with Cisse, Zamora as the only real strikers with Johnson & Mackie as cover.
Nelsen was signed as cover, but ended up a regular because Ferdinand & Onuoha were not good enough.
Had those two positions been properly filled, QPR had more than enough ability in goalkeepers and midfield, maybe not very good, but certainly on par with at least 6 or 7 other clubs.
Mbia was at Marseille, Granero played a lot of games for Real Madrid in La Liga, Park was at PSV and Man Utd, Diakite looked more than good enough last season whilst on loan. Faurlin looked the part before his injury. Taarabt blows hot and cold, but can certainly play at this level. As for Hoillet, he showed what he can do whilst at Blackburn(althouh we never saw much of it).
Even after January transfer activity, QPR still had some decent players and replaced Cisse with the even better Remy.
The players' problems were caused by the desparity in wages which led to a divided squad and poor management in the early part of the season.
Redknapp came in, but just couldnt galvaise them enough, partly because the pay issues were still there and the rot had set in. It is always difficult to play catch up, especially given that a lot of winning football matches is down to confidence and being 5-7 points adrift, winless and knowing that there are deficiencies in the squad that cannot be addressed until January could not have helped matters at all.
I agree with HR. I think we lacked quality up front and in the back. Taarabt, our main player for goals did not deliver. Our CBs just feel sometime that they don't need to track their man and what happens? He scores. Hill did it so many times. It is not acceptable for a CB. Perhaps for an offensive player like Taarabt but not Hill.
I can't understand why people get on Bosingwas back. After he came back from the incident he has been very good imo. His freekicks are much better than Graneros and Taarabt. He has been very good down the right side putting in decent crosses. When played as LB he wasn't as good obviously.
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
well tbf look where we are?...it's like he said pundits and suchlike say we have players with ability yet we're down....so they haven't produced that ability have they, and it's no good having it on paper

What I'm saying Dave is that the players we currently have, undoubtedly have the ability to play in the premier league.
It is down to the manager to get those players working together and producing results.
Being unkind, that interview with HR could come across as a manager trying to distance himself from any responsibility for our current predicament.......
Just seen the interview on SSN and he didn't hold back did he! Fair play to him. I get the impression he has in his mind the players he wants shot of and won't hesitate to tell em they better start trying to find another club.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

They have reputations that precede them i'll give you that, yes it could be said he is distancing himself from blame, but he doesn't need to does he?...he's already staying
At the end of the day we gave everything to the players and they had nothing to aim for. We should have offered less in wages with bigger rewards per game.
They had already won when they signed on the dotted line.
Traore...unwanted Arsenal reject lured here for big money
Boswinga...unwanted scum reject lured here for big money
Samba...Relegated with Blackburn last time he was in the prem and guess what..relegated again.
Hill/Derry/Mackie ..... never prem quality
Mbia/Diakite... never prem quality
Bothroyd...never made step up
Zamora/Johnson ... Foolham rejects finished as prem players (bet the Foolham fans had a giggle when we took those 2 off their hands)
Park.... finished as a prem player hence why Fergie got rid of him
Hoilett/Adel...hasnt done it in the prem and not sure ever will
Ferdinand...Championship at best
Granero... Prem (or Championship) doesnt look to be a league that suits him
Jenas ...Championship will suit him i reckon.
Not much ability between that lot....any of them get in a starting 11 from another prem club? cant see it. We bought sh1t on big money.
