  • Rob Green: QPR wrong to let Heidar go

Rob Green admits his season at QPR has been a nightmare – and says selling Heidar Helguson was a major factor in their demise.

I'm probably in the minority here but I don't think we were. I think he was superb last season I really do, not knocking that at all, but I think another year in the top flight would have been a step too far from him and he wouldn't have been remembered as fondly as he is.

Great servant though and seems a top top bloke.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think we were. Not only on the pitch, but also as a teamplayer and character in the diversity former known as our dressingroom.
Personally, I would have liked Tommy Smith to stay aswell.

It's been reported that Helguson is set to announce his retirement in a few days. Loved watching him in the hoops!

Another Hughes masterstroke to force him out as lets make no bones about it, thats exactly what he did.

You could sense something was up by his body language during the games he played pre season.

All because he had his buddies AJ and Zamora on board, wonderful.

THe other interesting statement in that article is that of the 6 wins we have had this season green has been in goal for 5!

This. Looking forward to seeing him between the sticks next season.

i can see a lot of these stories coming out of the woodwork now.

Shaun Derry: "Selling Matt Connolly was absurd"
Clint Hill: "Why didn't DJ play more?
Jamie Mackie: "We need Agyemang up top"

                      those are my predictions
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

I think Harry should have a word and tell him that he has at least another year in him.

I'm not one for brownie points but I did say this a few times. Rob Green's a good lad, should of been our number 1. Another mistakes Hughesy boy
                          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I kind of agree with you here, but as our top scorer last season we should have kept him on. A warrior in the vein of Nelsen and Hill and the sort of character we dearly missed this season. Would have been a better shout than his replacement Andy Johnson at the very least.
