  • Should we be panic buying again or buiding a team for the future?

Harry's primary target is to get us straight back up it seems, as there has been no mention of anything else. This will affect who goes, who stays in relation to team stability. Is one transfer window enough to build a strong enough team that will not be too disrupted by personel changes once promoted, if it happens?

Are we in for another two seasons of merry go-round spending because of the club pressuring too much for a quick promotion? Possibly because of the implications of the FFP rules for the championship? Is this a wise move, or that we have no choice?

Need to have the infrastructure in place to succeed. We went up before when we weren't ready, will we be ready if we did come straight back up? I have my doubts.

Most other Premier League teams have a good youth set up, people laugh at Villa's insane focus on youth but tell you what they will be a force next season because of it. I'd be happy to sit in the Championship for 2-3 seasons and slowly build up for another crack at the big time.

Just imagine if we hadn't gone up 2 years ago, but instead had built something with Warnock or AN Other, and had gone up this year. We'd have been much better off.

Patience is something we need to learn at all levels of the club, from fans to boardroom level.

I think that is a fair comment. However most of the people on here won't be happy if we are taking the long-term (sensible) view. You just wait if we are not in the top 6 after a couple of months to see the reaction on here.

Our problem could be players not wanted or players looking to get away dragging it out looking for a pay off or hanging around waiting for a better club to come in than one who might be interested ,
At least this this time we will have transfere window and the loan window ?
But surely this time we have to pay attention to building for future as well as going promotional

We've panic bought the last 3 windows. Not got us very far has it? Don't forget though now we are Championship we can also loan outside the normal windows so makes things a bit easier...
