  • Can someone please explain..

to me (as i must be of limited brain), why have we reinforced our strongest area (again) and done diddly squat to strengthen the 2 obvious weak points.
The squad is so unbalanced, its laughable.

I just dont get it. It doesnt make any sense to me whatsoever.

Im sure it must be me being thick , so can you explain slowly and use little words.

I also find this strange but does our strongest area always win battle for midfield? I think sometime we are losing this area in games. Not always but often during long period. Defense already strong I think. Midfield gets stronger. Keep ball to forwards even bad ones get goal? Is possible but you are right its not evident.

does not mean we won't strengthen, we have two weeks before our next game.

        Loan window opens soon.

We had to get Watson today as Birmingham and Ipswich were sniffing

          What Pete said.

Besides we do have Piccalilli, Simpson, Adel, Vine, Helguson, Ageymang and Balanta as strikers.

Need to convince someone to take some of them on before we can get someone better in

i think losing the battle in midfield at any time is down to bad tactics and team selection, especially against most of the teams we have played.
On paper, our midfield is strong.

Now at LB we only have Borrowdale whose a 3rd choice LB, maybe 2nd choice at best.

Upfront we have the 'unmagnificent seven' with more blanks being fired than at a Eunuch convention.

            Crazy.

I totally agree Scott, but this has been obvious for yonks. At least 2 of them should have been long gone by now.
The LB situation is laughable. We could of had that Dutch Chelsea fella nicely settled in our team by now. Or even better, bought a decent LB.

I agree with loans as an emergencey or when things are not going well, but we have had all summer to get an established frontman and LB in.

EVERYONE keeps referencing the LB position. Has Borrowdale been soooooo bad? We do have Connolly as a replacement LB so to me this isn't as major of an issue as up front. To be fair to the club we have made an attempt to get Beckford and also now Hooper. Failed in both attempts so from the clubs point of view what more could they have done... Who says they haven't been trying? We all knew nothing of the indian lad so who says the board haven't been making attempts. I'm not trying to put a spin on it in anyway shape or form. I'm just very happy with the signing of Watson and I am very sure there will be one or two more to follow.

these tactics have worked in spades throughout history,if you flood the middle of the battlefield the enemy has no way through.also the pincer movement can be employed to cut off the counter attack on the broadside.just ask stalin it worked for him when he stomped accross those silly little nations that neighbour russia, and the germans were beaten to a pulp too.trust me i'm not mad i just can see the wood through the bushes:exciting::waaaht::shocked:

                  lol.

in all seriousness though to not have strengthened out weakest positions is stupid.

it is stupid, but in all fairness we have had all summer to strenghten these areas, but failed to do so.we have the strongest midfield in the division, perhaps, but also one of the weakest forward line, which ultimetly will cost us a play off place if not addressed soon.on the subject of stupid, still cant understand why Magilton was given the job, that also will cost us.appologies to the happy campers in advance.

I dont think anyones doubting Watsons quality. Very glad hes on board.

I just think, in my very humble opinion, other areas needed strengthening more than midfield.

For Watson i am not ungreatful, neither am i ungrateful.

                              Ade is correct

If the Romans had packed the midfield at Cannae then then they would not have been enveloped, as it was they were too narrow and the rest is history
