Interesting to see how Newcastle fans after raving about there French (both white and black) transfer policy have now turned against it given they have fallen back into the danger zone.

Agree with Facto and w12 100%.
I can see deepcut thinking this isn't all pc but it couldn't be more true.

Due to the lack of respect for the fans and the club we have seen talented players fail and when you fail without trying there is no excuse for them. I do hope harry clears most of them out and m'bia and Boswinga have to top that list. M'bia is a dreadful player and it's no wonder we lose that midfield battle wk in wk out when you struggle to play a simple pass.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Unfortunately El Facto we have one of those Johny Foreigner type chappies in charge of "THE PROJECT" & the sole jist of "THE PROJECT" is to make "us" a global vehicle to promote (somebody's) business interests into new markets AND NOT to entertain 20,000 odd hardcore R's fans ......
Bradley Orr or even Kevin Gallen won't get a load of tiddly's excited and buying plane tickets ......
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

yeah lets buy overpriced, tactically inept English players

it's good to have a decent number of english lads but buying abroad is better value and they are fundamentally better ballers.

this season we were 2 CBs away from a decent team, it's nothing to do with foreigners

ligue 1 is the place to go, what with the french 75% tax rate......

Were we? We have scored 29 goals which is pathetic, 8 less than even Reading. Our problems are rooted far deeper than lacking a defender or 2.

As for the OP, at the start of the season I'd have totally disagreed, but having endured the $hit we have been served up all season and seeing the effort put in by the players on show, I have to admit I an inclined to agree with the general statement made, albeit it a tad generalised and there's obviously numerous players out there that don't fall within this stereotype.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I don't really understand this ridiculous jingoism. We need to sign players with the right mentality regardless of where they're from. Plenty of **** British players out there.

Tend to agree this is not a colour issue in my view its an attitude debate and that applies to all colours, and backgrounds etc

I think its too easy to just suggest if they are from Africa they are not up to the job and we need to focus on Anglo European white players to solve the problem as I can give two examples off the top of my head of white players who have shown just as poor an attitude and fight as some of the African players who appear to be the focus of the debate.

I give you Rowan Vine White British player who was more then happy to steal a living and offered up performances far worse then that of Mbia alternatively Granero (Northern European as someone suggested) also lacks desire and they are both of the colour and regionality that some are asking for to solve the problem.

The answer to me is to do your homework on a player before you buy them as that will usually be a decent indicator of what your getting i.e. anyone who scouted Adel over time would have been able to report back that he is a lad with ability but has and attitude and is probably not a team player no point moaning he is not a team player after you have bought him!!!!! the opposite of this would be someone like Viera someone scouting him would have said the boy is a leader who sets an example and will run through a brick walls for the team.

QPR has always had foreign players and been a diverse club and in the main we have not had a problem with foreign players in the past; why because the players in the past had been sought via proper old fashioned scouting and getting to learn about a player and what he is made of over time. From the arrival of Paladini and carried on by Flabby and Hughes we have stopped scouting and relied upon players been offered to us by agents so what we are getting in the main is a player on the recommendation of an agent who has an interest in the main of moving the player on.

We've passed the reigns off one of the most important aspects of any football club (its life a blood) player acquisitions over to an external party who does not have the best interests of the club at heart when he offers a player rather what he can make from offering the player

To me that's problem not where someone is from etc we have become lazy as a club and stopped doing our homework which for a club our size is our bread and butter. Were not Arsenal or Man Utd we cant afford to take a chance on a player our buys in the main have to be on the money (Sintons, Ferdinands, Peacocks, Wilsons, Bardsleys & Sinclairs etc) and that's what we don't do anymore we need to get back to it

                        The end

Ok im on my soap box now about why I think this is a scouting problem rather then any other reason such as colour or nationality

Samba Diakite would be used as an example of an African player who has wrong attitude and has not contributed and therefore the suggestion is we should not sign such players.

Well I could tell after 30mins of his debut against Fulham that the lad had talent but also had a touch of the loose cannons about him. Now if I can tell that after 30mins (did he last that long) of watching him how can experts such as Hughes and Rigg not know it??? because they probably had never watched him and he was bought on the advice of someone else

What Diakite needed was to train with the team for a few months and to have been introduced gradually let him watch games from the stand and drip feed him in what we done was bought him as the solution/answer (on the advice of a agent) and threw him straight in to resolve our problems. Had we scouted him we may have let him go by or we might have got him in and introduced him gradually as suggested above

As the old saying goes fail to prepare, prepare to fail the last two seasons we have proven this saying to be totally right

Hoilett wants to be British! Even being a foreigner I completely agree with your original post, these foreign mercenaries aren't up for a fight! It will be even harder in the Championship where more bottle is required and they'll be playing against a lot more tough British lads trying to get promoted!
