Across London, Mackie has just been relegated with QPR, but Tom Hopkinson, also of the People, believes he’ll be staying in the Premier League with Cardiff. “I can see this one happening. I’d go a minimum of eight out of 10, maybe even higher. I think Jamie Mackie would be a very good signing for a team like Cardiff; he’s got a couple of years of Premier League experience now and is very hard-working. And the main reason he’ll be leaving QPR is because he’s not on great money there and I think Cardiff will be able to give him a far better wage.”

He was played up front ahead of Cisse and scored 2 goals in about 12 games, not sure if he missed any of these;
Man U Sunderland Villa, Wigan Fulham, Newcastle West Brom, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs Man City Norwich West Ham, Swansea before losing his place.
He is not PL level, and if a club is willing to buy him for £3-4M, he can go, otherwise, keep him as he is good enough for the Championship and is not on a big wage.

The general consensus on this board is that Mackie isn't 'premiership quality'.........but ironically he's the one who could be heading back there....ahead of the 'quality' players.
Maybe we don't know as much about what makes a top footballer as we think.....
