Was really hoping Harry would be on his way and we'd be announcing a Chris Powell or Karl Robinson. Wrong choice in my humble. We need a shift in philosophy. Harry's only gonna wheel and deal

He brought in Jenas to play in place of Granero, Townsend in place of Mackie, Remy instead of Cisse, and Samba over Nelsen, at Spurs last year he signed Scott Parker, Friedel, Adebayor, and Nelsen too on a free.

8 signings in the last 3 windows all top class. So I hope he does plenty of wheeler dealing.

Maybe because he's referring to the likes of Remy and Samba. Of course that wont be easy and is unlikely but its not to say they wont try to keep them.

On paper... yes, good signings... didn't change our season though did it? Smashing our transfer record in the process. Our results under HR have been just as bad as they were under Hughes... still relegation form. But people still only want to blame Hughes. The problem is our ethos. We can't buy our way out of this with high profile signings... we need a re-think and a great young manager just might have given us a chance at that. Redknapp staying in charge only means we'll spend more money on big players.

He got Portsmouth out of the Champ by bringing in Sheringham, Merson etc. on big wages and has already stated he'd like to bring in similar places here... how is that going to stand us in better stead for our next crack at the Premier League.

I'd like us to think a little more long-term, don't put everything into trying to get back up next season. Young manager, good champ/league 1 signings but it won't happen. We'll bring in some "characters" as they'll be pitched from here on in on big money. Harry's not a trainer manager. He buys to fix problems. Out of our current lot - who could you point at and say they've been better since he arrived? Adel for two games maybe? I can't think of another player who's played any better than they did under Hughes
