  • Big day today for the club...................

I believe today is the day when Ealing Council decide if our plans for the new training ground will be approved or not. I know the last 2 seasons have been woeful, but this is the kind of thing our club desperately needs in order to move forward as a club. Get the Academy up and running and have proper facilities for our 'superstars.'

Good luck with everything today, Rangers!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

I think there's probably better players at Ice Station Warren Farm on a Sunday morning than we have in our squad
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

Wouldnt surprise me if the forms weren't delivered on time so our application is thrown out.

They probably gave them to Bothroyd to deliver, who in turn sent them miles in the opposite direction while falling over and sending the club an invoice for 30k for his services. Where have I seen that before?

You only have to look at Southampton to see what dividends a good academy can pay out.... Walcott, Bale, Oxlade Chamberlain plus others who have left and ply their trade in the prem, such as Nathan Dyer etc. Now they have achieved back to back promotions, followed by survival in the prem with a core of home grown talent. Shaw will be the next big player from the crop and will move on to better things.

Obvioulsy they have a large catchement area to themselves and not competing with so many clubs for local talent, but being in London there may be more clubs / academies, but there's also a hell of a lot more people.

Indeed. Look at a player like Sterling. If only we'd been able to hold on to him for longer.

We dont need this, we are not a big club with big stars so we do not need new training facilities. Put out some cones at the local park, that will do. TF just doesnt understand us!

No matter what league we're in a top training ground is key. Players spend about 90% of their time there. If players have got top training facilities it keeps them happy & can train well, concentrate better to tactics etc. You can attract better players to QPR if theyre impressed with the training ground, you can also attract young talent & in London it's important to get the edge over rival London clubs when it comes to youth talent. & it would be good to do something right & get credit for it. Southampton have had credit for their training ground for years

I could of gone on but believe you me a top training ground goes a hell of along way. IMO this is more important then a new ground, especially as it looks like we're down so a top training ground will give us the edge. Footballs all about margins & just doing more then someone else
