You are right. He didn't start the 3 first games. My point was, he was brought in as a backup and never meant to be a regular as previous posters also wrote. Hard to make him captain if he was meant to be a backup.

Funny how it turned out...Nelsen went on to become our player of the season and Park went on to become the dud of the season.

hehe yeah, Don't think Nelsen is our player of the season though since he left when we needed him most. But I guess I understand him. There can't really be any loyalty from the players if they haven't been here for some time and got good support from the supporters.

I think Ceasar saved us more than once this season but his form hasn't been that good lately. However he if anyone should be player of the season.

However, the choice to make him Captain I think triggered the downfall.

It's not common knowledge that there was a divide in the squad with the new signings and existing players, but I think making Park captain probably p***ed off a few.
I actually think it started to go horribly wrong in the summer we got promoted.....uncertainty about ownership and then a last minute supermarket dash of questionable 'frees' on hefty wages.

It set a precedent which haunts us to this day.

            We need stability.

HR had a transfer window and MH had 2. Can't really blame it on that. A managers job is to manage the players he have and build from that. Some people here are suggesting we sell most of our players which is ridiculous. MH made too many changes in the summer, that is why there wasn't any stability in the beginning of the season.
obvioulsy you havent read much about hughes' sacking. if you dont win for 13 games i think its a bit obvious the manager is the problem. Harry redknapp was left with a mess. Hughes win ratio comes from being in charge for more games than Redknapp not from being a better manager. like redknapp said at the end of the Stoke game "you can take a team who havent won a games in 13 matches and get them to play every week"

and nelson was the obvious choice for captain and through his purple patch i would of had granero but never ever Park.

but tbf the hysteria park brings with all his little pointless worshipers (like you) has saved us from a lot debt from relegation
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Cesar hasnt exactly saved us from much as were still going down. Think they always knew Nelson wanted to manage hence why it was a short contract he was signed on. we did need him but there must have been a clause in his contract to allow him to jump ship

I've read plenty and yet my opinion stay the say. Can't be all managers fault if the players are playing bad. Some of the 6 pointers we failed to win cost us IMO, some because of individual mistakes by defenders leading to us conceding, also red cards at critical points.

If both managers have the same win/ratio I think they are basically at the same level. 21 games with HR, and perhaps 33 with Hughes.

Nelson was never the obvious choice for captaincy in the beginning of the season. Don't be ridiculous. He didn't start the first few games becuase he wasn't meant to be. The defenders played bad and then he got his chance. Granero wasn't even here at the start of the season.

I'm not worshipping Park. Where in this thread have I said anything about worshipping park?

So tell me how could Hughes take a team that stayed up by beating the likes of Liverpool spurs and arsenal and turn them into a team that had the worst start in premier league history. Take redknapps first 5 games and he already had more wins than Hughes with the same squad. Park has no qualities to be a good captain he has experience yes but hes quiet and shy whereas there were the likes of Anton who stood up and wanted to be captain. Alright he's **** but I'd rather have him than park if he thought he couor step up

I heard on here that apparently he told Mark Hughes he felt he could be captain but the **** shot Anton down. Think that's showed more determination and merit for being the captain than park being a media.weapon
