Nobody knows if he a release clause but what was said at the time of purchase was that we paid £8m for him and another club had agrred to give us the £8m we paid if we went down, now most people put 2 & 2 together and thought it was spurs due to the fact we were touting for Townsend at the time. So release clause or not i think somebody will come in with an offer of £12m due to the fact he has massive potential. What price do you realistically think we should waiting for ?

I think we should consider a loan. This way if we do go back up, we can possibly bring him back to the club or if he does really well for another club then the price will probably increase.

Are the regulations in the Championship for loans different?

Yes he has, and TF mentioned he would go if we went down a few weeks back.

Remy is also injury prone, think he'd be out for a fair bit in the Champ with all those lumps after him.

Release clause just means someone can come in and offer him a contract if they meet the asking price. Though I'm sure he'll go as he wont want to play in the CCC, it will only be for the terms he wants.

No chance Remy will be here next season, release clause or not. Way too good for the Championship. Personally reckon both him & Cesar will be at Arsenal.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I cant see the loan idea working really, he is destined for a club either playing in the champions league or challenging the top 4 at least.

If he remains in England I think it will be either Everton, Liverpool or Tottenham that sign him.

I think it's got Arsenal written all over it. He's French, quality, proven in the prem albeit briefly, wouldn't have to relocate, easy to get home if he wants, and no doubt he'd relish the chance to play under Wenger, and Wenger will be able to pick him up relatively cheaply (certainly less than he'll be worth in a year or so) so it will fit perfectly with his general club transefer policy.

The right offer will be the clause in the contract!

Not a chance. We've always been a stepping stone for Remy. A player who is that good will want to play at the highest level and will get plenty of offers too
