THIS! I been saying this since people started calling for him to come back! The fact is, Joey Barton is rubbish at football. If he had come back, sure many will have welcomed him back with open arms. I guarantee those same people, after one or 2 Joey Barton performances, would have been right back in the I hate Joey Barton camp.

I'm not to bothered with what he tweets or does away from football, but the fact that he is s**t as a footballer I wouldn't want him back.

Barton's not a great footballer, but he's certainly not ****. OK he had an abismal game against Liverpool, but that was 1 game. Do people think M'bia has been great every game? Has Derry been great every game? Park, Jeanas, Granero..... The list goes on. They've all had shocking performances this season, so Bartons poor show against Liverpool is no different.

Part of Barton's game is he never let's the opposition settle. He runs non stop, chases down lost causes, he actually IMO improves the rest of the team as he sets a higher standard, and players I think see him as a captain therefore up their game as a result of his. To me he is what a captain should be. Constantly vocal constantly trying to improve the rest of the team. Yes he has major down falls, and is somewhat limited skill wise, but he's a damn sight better than some of the absolute **** we have at present, and part of our downfall this year for me, is no leader out there from the off orchestrating things.

Just my opinion, and sure others will disagree, but I think we've missed him massively

Wasn't just the Liverpool game, that whole season up until the Liverpool game he was absolute cack IMO. Only turned it on in the last few games.

Think well disagree on that pal. Thing is last season we had a leader on the pitch, this year we havnt. Last year we stayed up, this year we farked up.

Exactly. We have missed him hugely this year. Not a chance he would let the likes of Granero/Bosingwa/Hoilett give half hearted effort each week. This is what most people moan about week in week out. Got the most work out of Adel last season and led by example with effort and work rate. M Bia has played centre mid basically everygame and Barton would go in ahead of him for a number of reasons.

People mention the Liverpool game where he had a shocker and was booed etc. Those same people that were booing 10 days later were on there feet giving him a standing ovation and singing "One Joey Barton" after his top performance against Arsenal.

Would he get in our team now. Course he would. He is better than what we have.

At the end of the day as Harry has said, he wants to build his own team with his own players to come back up, then said "It won't be easy".

Off the top of my head he was MOM against Wolves in September where he scored and we won 3-0. Played well when we beat Chelsea at Loftus Road as well. Not saying he was a world beater everygame but to label him absolute Cack is a bit harsh.

Barton is a more effective CM than Park/Mbia/Derry/Granero/Diakite

I'd have Joey back for next year got more guts and passion than all the spineless W*****s in our midfield

Absolutely. For me if we built a team around a spine of Green, Samba, Joey and Adel we would absolutely tear that league apart, but don't think it will happen. JB won't be coming back and to be honest I don't blame him.

Let's get Suarez, Marlon King, Diouff and Ched Evans while we're about it.

He will be walking like a chafing John Wayne these days - will surely have an effect on his goal scoring abilities.
